I haven't noticed any buffeting in my Sahara hardtop unless the front window are open and not the rears.

Hi rayzjeep,I just took delivery of my 2019 JLUR a week ago and it does have considerable wind noise coming from the top center of the windshield (I think). I adjusted my panels to be even forward and back but that didn't help much. Kind of surprised it's louder than my old 2011 JKUR.
So I auto started my 2.0 tonight and when I got in it I swear I heard the buffeting. I too feel like it’s the active noise cancellation going bonkers. I’m not sure if it has to calibrate or something or if a microphone might be disconnected, but given the low speeds I hear the buffeting at I feel it’s possibly the noise cancelation. For ones that are experiencing the buffeting noise. Was it with a 2.0 or 3.6 engine?
Long shot theory but curious if the active noise cancellation system is causing it. I have a grand Cherokee with the system and sometimes it gets wonky and will do this exact same thing. Pounding the ear drums like a window is open even though there isn't. Then it will all of the sudden go away.
Also...if someone smarter and more resourceful that i (which is probably all of you) has a temp fix i could try...please point me in the right direction.Hey gang. Bought an '18 JLU Sahara...love it. I had two JKs previously and I know normal wrangler wind noise vs. abnormal. The noise I am dealing with (totally abnormal) is a wind leaking sound between the two freedom panels (toward the front). I know that's the location because I placed painters tape down the seam between the panels beginning at the front (not on the windshield) to about 1/3 of the way back and...no more wind leak. Have taken it to two dealers and both have heard it clearly but say that there is no bulletin etc so they can't fix it. They tell me that the scarier issue is that they are hearing the same leak on all the new jeeps that they drive to compare mine too. So, we need to open cases with jeep (I have and they have been quite responsive and attentive so far) to get these issues corrected. Such a frustrating problem but here's to hoping for a fix SOON!
Peace
My best guess if the seal on the panel are fine is the targa lever latch are not well adjusted. You can lower the metallic part on the windshield frame to increase the pressure on the panel.Also...if someone smarter and more resourceful that i (which is probably all of you) has a temp fix i could try...please point me in the right direction.
I'm going to try the painters tape down the middle this weekend and see if I notice any difference. Previously I had put painters tape along the seam between the upper windshield frame and the top from the drivers side to the passenger side width wise. But left the center seam between the panels uncovered. This didn't result in any wind noise reduction. If the tape down the middle does result in a significant reduction I think we'll be able to come up with a more permanent fix. Usually finding the issue is more difficult than the fix in my opinion. Especially with squeaks and wind noise.Hey gang. Bought an '18 JLU Sahara...love it. I had two JKs previously and I know normal wrangler wind noise vs. abnormal. Hate to take this all the way back, but I can't access the specified Torx screws. I don't see how it's possible to pop down the trim panel. Maybe I'm not trying hard enough but don't want to break it. Has anyone done this? It's kinda self explainatory, but look at the middle latches on the freedom tops (mirror area) , the clip they latch to can be adjusted down (slotted)with a Torx screwdriver. The trim panel "pop"s down for easy access. A little movement goes a LONG way..

Torx screws are just to the left of my finger in this picture.

Thanks for this! Couldn't figure out what noise it was that you were fixing. Mine has a wind leak between the freedom panels (toward the front of the jeep). Just curious where your noise was.Seguerski did a good video on youtube
