Yup, that's exactly what happens.Of course. It's an easy enough "problem" to fix, but seems like an odd thing to be an issue. That tiny tether would be annoying though. Seems like it would put the cap in the way every time you filled up.
It’s not the length of your tether that matters, it’s how you use it. :cwl:That wouldn't work for me. The tether is shorter than that. Doesn't reach very far at all. They must have run out of tether plastic. I just need another inch....that's what she said.
I just ordered one from Quadratec....Am I the only one here that doesn't have the gas door?

Wow, that's definitely shorter than my tether. At that point if i were you, I would just remove the tether all together or have dealer see if they can get a longer one lolThat wouldn't work for me. The tether is shorter than that. Doesn't reach very far at all. They must have run out of tether plastic. I just need another inch....that's what she said. :cwl:

The “my tether is shorter than yours” jokes are endless on this thread. Very entertaining! Fortunately I’ve been blessed with a longer tether. My wife is sooooo lucky! And here's a few shots of my "fix" for the tether. I didn't want the cap hanging on my paint, so I put on the hook as described before. As you can see it holds the cap up out of the way so I can fill the tank, and it keeps the cap off my paint.

Clearly a Darwin Award overachiever.Actually I planned on it being plastic. Speaking of spark....yesterday I left the gas station as quickly as possible as I noticed the guy beside me leaning over his car and about 12" from his gas cap with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth
