Fuel cap tether too short

Does anyone have difficulties with their gas cap tether being too short to place it away when filling up with gas? It's like an inch too short to put it over the gas door. It's really a pain that you have to use two hands to fill the tank. I can barely push the gas cap aside and the gas filler nozzle in the filler neck.
I checked 3 other JLR's on my dealers lot and they all the same. Any of you find this a pain?
