Thanks for your quick reply Art,
do you think this is due to turning and not proper camber, toe in adjustment, alignment?
Again after 5 rotations, every tire will have been at every position.
Bad alignments will certainly cause tire problems. As will worn out components.
But even with proper alignment, some tires just wear funny in the front. IFS & solid axles each can cause various issues for tire wear on 4x4s - even with a good alignment. Sometimes it’s just the tires instead of all else considered.

tires wear differently on the front than they do on the rear.

i want every tire to be on the axle opposite of where it was on the ground last time it was on the ground, and i want tires on the same axle to have both been spinning the same direction last time they were on the ground.

just going around clockwise or anti-clockwise means that one of your tires on each axle was spinning the other way last time while the other one wasn't, and only one of the fronts has had a chance to smooth out on the rear since it was last on the ground.

Can someone please explain why after 5 tire rotations, where every tire has been in all positions, you guys still keep using the Madden system? I'm trying to understand the benefit and can't find one, over the simple clockwise rotation (no printers, diagrams required)

Is it wrong that my dealer only does a 4-tire rotation... but I'm fine with that because I want to wear the A/S tires down as fast as possible so I can justify getting some new A/T tires... and maybe some new wheels??? :)

there is no law that says you can not replace tires well before they need to be replaced....otherwise I would be in jail by now...:)

This!
And if you pull them while they still have life left, they have resale value- which offsets the cost of the new ones. I’ve done this several times when changing things up on my truck.

Discount Tire, where I have my rotations done, has suggested three different rotation patterns depending on who I've talked to each visit.

I've settled on the simple clockwise 5-tire rotation at around 4,000-mile intervals, trying to extend the life of my KM3's as much as possible. Discount Tire has been great to work with.

I hear this, after 5 rotations, every tire has been in every position for the same amount of time, goofy Madden directions make NO DIFFERENCE to this fact, IE every tire will have been on the left side for 2 rotations, every tire will have been on the right side for 2 rotations and every tire will have been on the front and back for 2 rotations each.

Assume the front tires receive 2x more wear than the rears and you rotate clockwise. The passenger front tire will always have received 4x the wear of the driver rear when you go to do your 2nd rotation. The alternative approaches here are intended to prevent that type of mismatch.

maybe you should try talking to the tire manufacturer instead?

I think I'm going to keep how I rotate my tires under my hat.

I'd get pummeled!
