Of course, you can also just start with a black Jeep. Then everything matches.

I like the plastic fenders for contrast. It would be too much yellow otherwise with painted fenders and way too much yellow with same color hard top.

the black plastic ones have the advantage that you can have them sprayed with bed liner and now they are pretty hard to destroy unlike the painted ones. and for me having a Mojito color jeep i needed some black to break up all the green. the old saying less is more works out well with the Mojito color.

I have seen the hardtop also getting spray painted with Rhino Linings along with the fenders.

I've got a 2019 Wrangler Sport S 2-door with the black plastic fenders, and I'm a bit confused. I see many Jeeps with body color fenders and many with the black plastic like mine. I always thought the more expensive Jeeps had the body color fenders, in particular the Rubicons. But I keep seeing Rubicons with black plastic fenders like mine, and some with body matched painted ones. I thought Rubicons, being high end, had the color matched painted fenders standard. Are the painted fenders an option across the Jeep line?

Best,
-Tim

As no one has put a straight up, complete answer here, this is the answer..

Sports come with black plastic fenders.
Saharas come with body color painted fenders.
Rubicons come with black plastic fenders, But...
Rubicons have the option for body color painted fenders.

Also, no wranglers come standard with painted hard tops, but they are an option on both Saharas and Rubicons.

Now for personal opinion... I prefer painted fenders and hard top. I do like the look that black fenders or a black top or a both can add, by balancing or breaking up the colors. However, if prefer 100% painted for myself. To break up the color, I added the factory option for the upper body decal, which is essentially a thin black stripe and that does a good job imo.

I ordered the painted fenders with my 2 door Rubicon. I think they look better, but I am not a hardcore off roader either. Painted fenders can get scratched up off road, leading them to look bad after time and need after market replacement. Basic black can look bad over time and need after market replacement also. Although the basic black fenders don't look bad initially, I have seen enough older Jeeps (no JLs yet, they aren't old enough) where I thought the basic black fenders looked...like they needed replacement.

I could tell you, but then....
My Rubicon came with the painted fenders, but it was one I bought off the lot as opposed to ordering. Had I ordered I would have ordered it with the black plastic as opposed to painted white. I figured once they're "broken in" from being in the woods I'd pull them off and have them Line-x'd anyway. Until then, they look ok. Being white the battle scars don't show much anyway (so far.)

+ one on the plastic if you’re gonna be wheeling in the woods......

Even if your not wheeling it is possible. My painted top looks like that just from low hanging trees in parking lots.

But as the saying goes, "Can't see it from where I stand" :)

This made my black hard top look really bad, lol our trails are just covered in branches just reaching out to pin stripe the heck out of my jeep. I have one on the side that luckily didn't pierce the clear coat that runs from my headlight to my tail light :CWL: will post some pics :giggle:

First off, nice Punk'n you got there! My wife is interested in a 2 door rubi in that color with black fenders and roof for contrast.

Second, chocolate thunder beat you to the punch on the first page.

Third, is someone pointed out that he was a bit off and so are you.

Sport(s): Textured black only for top and fenders
Sahara : Textured black standard, painted is a paid option
Moab. : Painted top and fenders only
Rubicon: Textured black standard, painted is a paid option

Not sure about the new Willy's and Black n Tan editions.

You almost got it, haha!
Sahara is painted fender only, painted top optional.

You got the rest right though.

And Arterius2 for the win!

That's the last time I post before a full fact check. I usually avoid misinformation, but slipped and went out on a limb. Thanks for the save, Jerry!
