So I am reading this correctly? Can the warranty be purchased withing the first 12 months or 12,000 at the same price as new? If so why would you purchase it when the car is new, why not wait 12 months and get a feel for the Jeep before you drop $2600?
Aside from the very slight price increase, why not wait till the very end of the warranty purchase window. This warranty doesn't stack on to the original. You don't really gain anything from the early purchase (aside of the slight cost discount). I'd use up my original warranty then consider purchasing the lifetime if I feel it necessary. You never know if in those first few years you wind up getting rid of the Jeep for whatever reason and throw away that lifetime warranty.

In my case that warranty is $4000. I think I'd be better off rolling the dice and putting that $4k in a savings account. If I have a dire repair that needs the money, it's there. Chances are with our benign driving habits such a major failure is very unlikely. If that's the case, my money is in my bank, not Chrysler's.

Geico has what they call MBI, that covers the entire vehicle for 100,000 miles. It's only like $5 a month and you can go to any repair shop, including the dealer. I think the deductible is $250.

Yes, I received the following quote for the 2018 JL, send him an email to get info directly from him, he answered back pretty quickly:

From: Tom Winkels, email [email protected] - Finance Manager, Hayes Jeep - TEL-269.488.2080

MSRP is $3965
Employee price $2973
His price $2665 $100 deductible
Or $2340 $200 deductible

You can purchase this contract at this price from him after you take delivery and prior to Mopar raising their prices, which usually occurs in early April each year. Also, Mopar applies a $150 surcharge after your vehicle reaches 12 months from ‘in service’ date or 12,000 miles.
He'll sell this to buyers from others States who bought Jeeps from other dealers?

Reduced but there are better prices available.
Well that site quotes me at $3,965.00 with $100 deductible. Being in FL screwed me. Unless someone could do much better it would not be worth it IMO.

I would try contacting the guy listed above. If you google his name, you'll see many other forums that recommend him as well. I haven't found anywhere that offers a better price.

MBI specifically excludes damage caused by “misuse”. I’m curious how they define that in the context of a vehicle designed for off-road use.

I almost bought a 2017 2 door JK WIllys Wheeler W back in November. I inquired about the lifetime warranty. This is the pricing I got from the dealer:

LIFETIME MAX CARE
$0 DEDUCTION: $5795
$100 DEDUCTION $3965
$200 DEDUCTION $3640

Here's a link to the FCA brocure: https://www.mopar.com/content/dam/mopar/pdf/mvp/2016-12%20MVP_New%20Maximum%20Care%20Web.pdf

Obviously I'll get new pricing when I order my JL and try to negotiate it down, but I'm strongly considering it. I keep my vehicles pretty much forever and this looks like it actually covers quite a bit.
Just FYI..I negotiated the lifetime warranty with $100 deductible for $2,760 at time of purchase so they do negotiate on it..

Buzz, which dealership are you getting this from?

I tried negotiating with Koon's. The lowest they said they would go was $3000 w/ $100 deductible. They are saying that their dealer cost is $2900 and they add $100 to it to make a profit.

I don't get it. especially if your quote is $2760 and Hayes Jeep is $2665 for the $100 deductible plan.

Interesting, perhaps the dealership lied? :giggle:

Could also be since he is well known, he gets better pricing as long as he keeps them coming. Doubt it thou

I would have expected Koon's to have competitive pricing on all options, unless they are trying to make back some $$$ from their 5% off invoice deal.

Still curious to see which dealership @Buzz got the $2760 quote from.

It could be they're trying to make up the cash. But it's not like they lost money selling at 5% below. Their doc fee was the max allowed I believe and with the amount of people buying they meet their numbers for sure. They had some of the best prices

The Chrysler MaxCare Lifetime warranty with a $200 deductible is $2690 from www.chryslerwarrantydirect.com. I got my JK warranty through there years ago when the dealer wanted twice what I paid.
