I did the same, the front and bottom, top & sidesPlasti-dipped my windshield transponder and it works fine. See https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/e-zpass®-transponder-plasti-dip-mount-with.19959/
When I call them they change the rate back to what I would have been charged if it was working correctlyWe have both EZpass and SunPass here and I was using SunPass for years with no problems but EZpass I was told the money stays in your area and you get rebates so I switched over.
They are awful, it misses all the time and I get hammered with toll by plate (some as high as 16.50 per toll)
I switched back to SunPass and have been fine since. I wonder if it’s the same company as it says it’s good up the coast in other states.
I wish they would just come out with a US wide one. I at one point had 5 different accounts in 6 states when I RVd
I wish we had a sticker. We have the old school plastic box. I've had EZ Pass since it came out and never had a problem until recently. I had it on my 94 YJ in the late 90s and never had a problem!Do you guys not have a sticker? In Florida, we have Sun Pass and it uses a sticker or the old style plastic transponder. Works just fine behind my rear view mirror.
See? It's something to do with the windshield. When I called EZ pass the first time to complain, they told me that they recommend the license plate scanner for wranglers. With the JL, I know the windshield is angled more than the JK, so I thought maybe that would fix the problem. Guess not!Interesting. Has this been an issue?
I have the Sunpass, older thin one with suction cups. I put right behind the rear view mirror. Ive been getting letters from Tolls that I havent paid supposedly. Wondering why now?
The problem I had with the plate one was that if it didn't work at a bridge, I had to pay cash (I never really carry cash). The toll collector told me that if the windshield pass didn't work, I could have just handed the pass to her and she could have scanned it. They can't scan your plate from the booth.License plate for a year now. Never an issue.
