Good move. If it was worth it for the customer (i.e. they get back more than they paid in) the companies would go out of business. It's simple math. Extended warranties are absolutely the biggest profit-makers in retail. But still, people buy them left & right. Go figure.

Not sure for what vehicle you purchased, but a 5/100k MaxCare plan with $100 deductible wouldve been $1,250 no tax on a 2022 Wrangler.

that was for a 2022 jeep wrangler Rubicon.

Its just a bit of insurance, of course the companies selling it are going to come out ahead or they would not offer it. That is a given, but pay now or pay later or never have a problem at all. But I think mine to even out at 5years/60k MAX was pretty cheap over the loan period. 100k on the power train but I don't drive that many miles but still works for me.

Has anyone researched the best place to buy an extended warranty? My dealer wanted 2,900 for a 7 year 100,000 mile Mopar platinum warranty... $121/mo for 24 months at 0% interest.

Tom Winkels. He saved me over $1,500 off what my local dealer wanted for the exact same warranty for our old JK. When I showed them Tom's quote they said it was lower than their cost (it wasn't) and they would not match it. I bought it from Tom and it more than paid for itself for the 7.5 years we owned the vehicle.

I'm looking at the 36k standard warranty as the actual test drive. If I have significant problems with the Jeep during that timeframe, it will let me know to sell it off and start over.
The only thing I'm concerned about are all of the stupid little computers and sensors spread all over it.

I like that I can wash my land cruiser topless with a hose and know that I can drive it 100% without issues.

If something is going to fail prematurely, it will be during the arrant period. After that, failures are pretty much regularly scheduled.

Also, there are no more computers on the JL than the JK.

I actually had some good success with the Mopar Max Care plan on my previous Sahara. Got it from the site posted earlier in this thread for a good price and definitely paid for itself before I got rid of the truck. They also refunded the remainder to me once I cancelled. Ended up being a little over half the initial cost.

I purchased a Fiat Chrysler Automotive extended warranty . When I bought my 2019 . I paid $ 1,510.00 for 8 years or 85, 000 miles with a transferable warranty to add on. If you would like I can send you ( a copy of my contract) ?Please let me know. I see a lot of differences of ( I purchased and bought that reasoning) I'll scan you my true contract , Please advise.
