I got a 2023 rubicon earlier this year and it was offered with a lifetime warranty, did not turn that down, planning to keep it a few years

I have a ‘21 Sahara HA, wondering about an extended warranty. With so many dissing Jeep dealer repair work, why would I go with a Mopar program? Heck, most can’t get any help from Jeep Cares. Thoughts? And thanks.

Not to hijack the thread, but since the topic came up, this was one I was interested in as well. Just picked up a used 2022 392. It is still under the factory warranty obviously, but I was considering adding an extended warranty to it at some point...just didn't want to do so when I was buying it. At the time of purchase, the dealer finance guy was pushing hard (shocker!) towards an "Easy Care" extended warranty rather than the Mopar plan, but we didn't get too deep into specifics of it.

Anyone have any experience with Easy Care vs. the Mopar plan, and specifically, do any of them cover much to do with the SOT Roof? Admittedly, that was one of my main reasons for thinking of an extended warranty for a change.
I would get Mopar Max Care or nothing myself. Is the best one to have. Plus purchasing from a different dealer will be the best price you can get on one.

Generally the angry are the loudest. Not all of us have shitty dealers. I hear shit from all shops not just Jeep, I had horrible experiences with GM but that was just me but I did end up getting rid of my buggy truck.

As far as extended warranties go, the best advice for any vehicle is to wait until the factory warranty is up and determine how reliable the vehicle has been. If you feel you have cause for concern then buy the warranty from someone like Grainger. If the vehicle has been reliable, just put the money in a savings account to use if needed For repairs. In my business I audit car deals and am amazed at what some people pay for various F&I products. Do some research and quit blaming the dealers for trying to make a buck.

Wow, that sucks, BUT at least you are shopping around I had a great experience so far with them. Did you hit Zach up or one of the girls in the thread? or did you just call Grainger? Two different departments.

No, Grainger's price is much lower. I meant I wouldn't be getting the extended through the dealer I'm purchasing the vehicle from.

I would also wait till near the end of the factory warranty. It's said that waiting will cost you more but I don't know if that's true, especially if you go with a dealer with big discounts. Here's another thing. If you have an issue that keeps your Jeep in the shop for an extended period of time you can negotiate a Max Care service contract (what they call an extended warranty) for your trouble. If you already paid for one that option is off the table
After mine was in the shop for 45 days they offered 6yr/85K Zero deductible Max Care. I think they gave me Zero deductible simply because I asked for it.
I like that because I can take it in for any stupid little thing . Zero deductible will cost alot more if you end up buying a warranty. Mine has been trouble free for over a year since.

I think so. Just remember that the price is negotiable. I went with one through Ally becasue it allows up to a 3" lift and 37" tires.

For reference, I don't know if I left $$ on the table but my final negotiated rate (with 35K miles on my Jeep) was bumper to bumper coverage (with a lift) for an additional 60 months/60,000 miles, $100 deductible, for $2,625. I'm covered for another 5 years and odometer of 95K miles which should cover me to at least the end of my loan.
Last month i got about the same mopar bumper to bumper for about $1,800, way less than they cost back in 2013

Another thing. If you trade or sell to a dealer an extended warranty doesn't add much if any value , tho Private party sale should.

X 2

Getting it from a Auth Dealer UNDER the MOPAR plan means you can go to ANY dealer you want.

There are also Dealers who offer THEIR plan, which is good, but THEIR plan only works at THAT dealer, not the one down the street or across town or another state or city you now live in! They typically will say Life Time Coverage, sure bet on that. There is no Life Time Coverage unless you treat that Jeep with a Kid Glove or they will deny your claim...you got to understand the dealer can deny your claim because you have installed Tube Fenders and the Mexican Jeep Engine Mech is too short to work on your Jeep. TRUE STORY, it happened to me) or you have modified your Jeep, like putting on 35 tires, and at my last dealer ANY MOD = out of warranty even brand new bought there a week ago!

Then there is all the stuff on TV, skip it and much of it is a Scam, parts are often from China etc.

This!!! one of the dealers close to me stated lifetime warranty. But I'm NOT allowed to change my own oil. I MUST use their dealer for ALL oil changes. NO THANK YOU. I guarantee I will treat my Jeep better than them when I do an oil change.
