Wanted to get some last minute opinions on this. I'm going to sign paperwork in an hour and I know they're going to ask if I want to add the extended warranty (150k, 10 years). I've never added this to a car before, but I plan on keeping this jeep basically forever, so has it been worth it for you all who have gotten it? And is it actually bumper to bumper as they claim?

Thanks!

I‘m thinking of gettting one at some point with all the electronics on these things now. But do some research online. Some dealers offer pretty good deals on Mopar extended warranty. Once you get some prices then see if your dealer will match it. It does not matter who you buy it from.

That's a good point! I wasn't really thinking that it could be purchased after the fact. There are plenty of dealers in the part of Michigan I'm in, so this will probably be a good idea to shop and compare. Thanks!

Read the contract. It states what is covered.

Hi,

My wife has a 2015 JKUR, other than 2 sets of rear pads, tires and oil and filter changes, no issues 80,000 miles, did have hinges replaced due to corrosion in 2019, just standard warranty, just got my 22 JLUR same 3.6 and didn't get the extra warranty only the one for rims and keys, got the same on the 2015. If it makes you more comfortable knowing you have a warranty go for it, but by the time you get 60,000 miles on it you will know if you have a lemon or not, imo.

Regards,
Jim

per the mopar site, you have time to decide as you can purchase it directly:
New Vehicle plans can be purchased anytime within 3 years and 36,000 miles of the vehicle's warranty start date (the date the vehicle was delivered to its original owner). Surcharges may apply after 1 year or 12,000 miles. Certified Pre-Owned plans can be purchased on Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep®, Ram, FIAT® or Alfa Romeo vehicles with an active, Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty and an odometer that reads less than 75,000 miles. Traditional Pre-Owned Vehicle plans can be purchased on vehicles that are no more than 10 model years old and with an odometer that reads less than 150,000 miles, or less than 125,000 miles for vehicles with a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty provided by the manufacturer. Your dealer will complete a Vehicle Inspection to ensure the vehicle is eligible for coverage. Convenience and Maintenance (non-mechanical) plans have specific enrollment rules. Please visit your local dealer for details.

If they were a good investment for the consumer, the company would lose money. That of course, isn’t allowed to happen. Most extended warranties that I have worked with are flat out scams, covering very little of the vehicle, and at only partial labor rates.

If you’re planning to keep the vehicle beyond the 5/60 powertrain warranty, I would look into the Mopar MaxCare Vehicle Protection Plan. The price of the plan increases after 12 months or 12k miles by a few hundred $, so consider it when you’re getting to that point in your ownership.

The more electronics and chip-driven features that are on these vehicles, the more can go wrong & the less you can repair yourself.

There are also different online dealers that sell the Mopar plans at discounted prices, and offer further discounts if you pay in full such as https://www.chryslerfactoryplans.com/

The Mopar plan can be canceled if you sell or trade in the vehicle & you’ll receive a prorated amount back or you can transfer the plan to the new owner if you sell privately - which can be a great selling feature.

Has anyone researched the best place to buy an extended warranty? My dealer wanted 2,900 for a 7 year 100,000 mile Mopar platinum warranty... $121/mo for 24 months at 0% interest.

Click the link I posted above. My dealer told me flat out they couldn't beat that price. put "payinfull" in the discount code box.

I just purchased a MaxCare 5 yr/100k plan from them for my 2020 wife's GC because she just hit 36k miles. She gets an employer car allowance so we trade in when the vehicles hit 100k miles. I paid $800 less at that link above than my dealer wanted.

I got mine at CarShield, Diamond Plan, 5 year / 100,000 mile for $1,645 + Tax.

Not sure for what vehicle you purchased, but a 5/100k MaxCare plan with $100 deductible wouldve been $1,250 no tax on a 2022 Wrangler.
