On my 2020 GMC Sierra, they also had this miserable feature that would shut the engine down at stop lights. Yes, you could hit a switch on the dash and turn it off but that along with the their (shut down) some cylinders was more than i could stand.

So I found an aftermarket deal that eliminated the start/stop deal all together plus I was now running on 8 cylinders at all times instead of 5 or 6, etc.

Is there an aftermarket deal to override the Jeep start/stop feature???

@scootertoo

Go with a SmartStopStart unit and not a knockoff of same..

I purchased this harness before my factory-order Jeep arrived, and installed it the same day I drove my new JLU home from the dealer. Money well spent. Granted, it's a one-trick pony, but I like the convenience.

I have that on my Wrangler and love it but neither mfg of that harness (there ARE two) makes one for my '23 GC. I contacted both and was told that there are no plans to make one for my GC as they are concentrating "on other makes and models".

I never understood why anyone would buy a start/ stop eliminator. Every rubicon owner should install a tazer for sway bar use, lockers, tire size adjustment, etc... and it keeps the start/ stop off. Vs the start/ stop device that does nothing else?

Seems that some folks, on the Wrangler JL forum at least, report unexpected issues with the Tazer. For me all I needed and wanted was the silly auto stop/start permanently off.

To each their own, but being able to disconnect the sway bar in 2wd and at any speed is far more useful than turning off stop start... which you can already do with a button. If you have a model with no sway bar disco, no lockers, and you'll never change tire size I guess it makes sense.

Tazer offers so much more. The problems that most people have with the Tazer is failure to properly understand or follow the instructions, which admittedly, are convoluted to a certain degree.

All true but my off-road days are behind me. My JL Sport S is stock.

I made sure I spent as much money as possible and went from the auto stop eliminator and JSCAN, to Taser And JSCAN. Some functions are more intuitive to “program” with JSCAN, but the Taser does more things. Each individual has to decide what they need or care about.

My wheeling days will be over when my driving days are over. Just to be able to disconnect on the 15 mile wash boarded dirt road out to our property is worth every penny to me. Made the mistake of taking the stock 4x4 F150 out there once and I felt like my eyeballs were going to rattle out of my head or the truck was going to shake apart...possibly both.

You do realize that there are other trims, and that each owner's use case, and budget, will guide his purchases...

See post number 8? Obviously I realize that. As I said if you have no lockers, sway disco, and will never change tire sizes and are ok with way over inflated tires to keep the low pressure warning off I could see the ess eliminators. I can't see why anyone would own a Rubicon and not have a tazer though. Even jscan is limited as far as on demand/on the fly use.
