Fuel Filler Discriminator, Ecodiesel
I was previously unaware of the method in this video, I only saw it just now while looking for the other thread I'll link further down. Seems way easier than what I did on 2 different jeeps.

Alternative filler neck for large diesel nozzles?
That's different!

I wonder if that little metal thing in the center, the flap goes all the way around the filler neck, or if it's only in front of the hole from the discriminator?

Man, you guys are brave doing that. Maybe if I was the only one that ever, ever drove it and maybe if I was perfectly focused on everything I ever did, then yeah, I'd be in for it. Reality, however...

What do you mean? None of my others diesels have ever had an abortion like this under the fuel cap. They all accept the larger high flow nozzles.

My VW TDI has a small neck as well. It's not uncommon in passenger car diesels.

I guess I just don't see it as bravery. Are diesel pickup truck owners just smarter than diesel car and suv owners so they have never needed to discriminate?

They all accept the larger high flow nozzles without being modified? That implies that when someone who doesn't fully understand that it's a diesel tries to fill it up they can put gas in it. That's typically considered to be "bad".

I don't know how old you are (I'm 46), but as far back as I can remember unless you went to a big truck refueling station the gas and diesel nozzles have always been able to be interchanged on accident. I remember BP stations used to have green nozzles on gas pumps and that screwed up many a traveler. <<<Now that was just dumb, and kind of a gotcha. But I thought it was super odd finding this discriminator deal in the fuel neck of our first JLURD in 2020.

And so to me it's not brave to remove the idiot proof gas nozzle discriminator. It's a teeny tiny return to normalcy.

You've bought new non-commercial trucks that directly allowed you to fill up with the high-flow (1 1/8") nozzle and not just the 15/16" non-commercial variant? I was under the impression that 15/16" was the default unless it was a commercial diesel vehicle.

Where is this method talked about? I have read some of the other ones and they seem to have you removing the whole fill tube from the Jeep from under the fender.

It would be nice to get rid of it. I have been taking note of what pumps have the larger nozzle, but usually one side of the pump is standard and the other is the large.
Here is what I saw:

I guess it’s not brand new, 2020 Ford.
This is a weird thread offshoot, but it happens.

So has anybody on here actually removed the discriminator from there EcoDiesel Wrangler?

If so can I get a photo from you of what your fuel input port/filler neck looks like now from the outside???
