Was this the fix for this issue in video below?

I needed to replace the CAN-BUS. There was a short in the board. Once I replaced it, I haven’t had an issue since 2021 when it all started.

If it’s the CAN-BUS, while Jeep is on Run, wiggle the connections slightly. If there’s a short you should basically recreate every issue your Jeep threw at you. Just the slightest bump threw my Jeep out of wack. Power steering, gauges, wipers, etc.

Tip: if you decide to pull any wires from the CAN, just take pictures so you don’t get stuck wondering what wire goes to what.

@Corey_schissler You have a 2022 Wrangler, I would be making Jeep figure it out. As long as I didn't mess with the electrical parts etc. You start replacing parts might end up with a bill if you need the dealer to fix it. Lot of the guys in this thread are out of warranty and fixing it themselves.

Just my advice for what it is worth.
Tried it. Jeep “couldn’t recreate customers complaint,” then sent it back to me few days later. Pretty bad a non-specialist can fix their issues. My Jeep Just about killed me driving around a corner.

With the amount of people I seen having the same issues and same outcomes… why hasn’t this been under a recall? Not sure if anyone else had the power steering issues i had caused by the CAN-BUS, if your fighting to turn the wheel after if turns off then all of a sudden your steering kicks on. Somebody going to roll their Jeep or go straight into a tree if not already have already.

My power steering would go out as well and the transmission as well as everything else. Changed out the CANBUS last Friday hoping that works. My stop/start feature still does not work. Going into the shop again.

My stop and start still works only when it wants to and my radio would pop then shut off every once in a while, but other the annoyance of changing my clock every other month I haven’t had any of the serious issues since I changed mine out. I read on another thread the radio popping and restarting could be caused by the charging usb port. But I do wonder if that had something to do with it. Whether it caused a surge and shorted out the board, idk. ?‍♂ but if the issues ever comeback I know where start.

Show me a pic or THE PART TO FIX IT
Hey Corey,
Go back to page 7 of this thread, I posted pics of the part and the location. The part I bought has a part number of 6832 1746 AA 001 on the bag. When I replaced it I took out one plug at a time and put it in the same place in the new one so I didn't get any of them in the wrong spot. You will need a small screwdriver to push in the locking tabs to get them to release. I picked up the part at a local dealership for about $70 and it took maybe 15 minutes of my time to replace it. Sounds like guys have had luck with the ones from eBay as well, I just didn't know about the cheaper option when I did mine. I was ready to drive ours off a cliff beacuse I was so frustrated with what was going on. Havent had a single issue since replacing the green CAN BUS back in April and issues were occuring on a daily basis before replacement.

Hope that helps!

I changed out my CANBUS yesterday so hopefully no more issues will see.
How did you make out with the can bus change? I was running good for a week than back to problems again my new battery i put in is already at 36% life so it looks more like a alternator issue but still scared that this really isn’t that, but my two month wait to get into Jeep/Dodge is tomorrow so lets see.

I just replaced my CanBus last week. I ordered it off eBay for $15 shipped . No more issues. My battery died and I needed to jumpstart it. After I replace the battery it was still going crazy. My wife got stuck somewhere because it would not go out of park. I told her to open the glove box, go behind it and wiggle the wires going into the green plug, and it was fine. She got home. I swapped out the part and it’s been fine ever since. Just grab a tiny screwdriver and in the back of each plug, push the screwdriver between the bus and the plug and it should wiggle right out.

Another fourm I read with a guy basically had the same issues. After a month in the dealer they came up with CAN BUS connector, then the thread stopped so not sure it was a fix or not. So I figured to go through all the basics.

I had this issue, I bought the canbus connector online for about $55 and replaced it. It took about 10 minutes in total and haven’t had an issue since

Hoping someone in here can help ....
I had the star connector issue just over a year ago ... took them forever to figure out the problem was the green can bus behind the glove box ... everything was great for a year until last week when I was in the bush ... suddenly the issue returned.

I called my dealer and had them read through the repair with me... they were able to find another part in Sudbury that I was able to get to, that dealer wouldnt swap it for me without rediagnosing so I did it myself in their parking lot.

Everything was great for about an hour (drive time back to camp) when I went to start my 6 hour trek back home the damn thing started acting up again.

Ive since taken it back to the dealer, they out 4.5 hours into it that ended in basically its working now but they dont know what they did to fix it.

I live 1100 meters from my dealership, despite them saying they did multiple test drives without it faulting, I didnt even get home before it started going off again.

I am super frustrated that this (apparently fairly common issue) cannot be identified and resolved. Wondering if anyone else has had further issues since replacing the green can bus.
@JeepCares

I love my Jeep even if Ive had some issues over the years but I hate paying "the experts" to do basically nothing

Ive included the invoice from the most recent repair with the tech notes
