The can buses are pure crap. They have micro pins in them and are not up to the job they were intended for. The whole system looks like a disaster to me. The guy who thought it would be good to use a motorcycle battery to start a Jeep needs his pink slip. I have already bought my replacement vehicle, a 2000 TJ Sahara 4.0. Over-engineered and underdeveloped. Very sad, they won't age well.
Okay so not going to post all things I have done but Im down to either the can-bus which I bought on Ebay for 8 bucks just the Green one not the white. I changed my main battery a few days ago and it seemed good for a day and a half and today I had some time so I change out the Aux14 battery and cleared all my codes. I drive about 20-30 miles today and still nothing no lights hope I just didn’t jinx myself ? also reinstall negative cable and fuse 42 back in the proper spots. Not lights but today when backing up the jeep stopped and acted as if it was not in gear had to put in park than back in reverse, so now there that…. The never ending story of a first year Model and all the technology they finally added to Jeeps that are all having these Issues..

I am convinced the can buss is not up to par, I bought mine with 72K on it, one owner 35 year old lady who never missed a servicing, all work was done at the dealership who sold it to her, and never left the hard road. Spotless car-fax. I do believe she was having problems with it that went unreported. I had the ABS light come on during the test drive. They assured me it was the batteries and it would be corrected, new batteries and a scan sheet, all good. I had them deliver it 45 miles to my house then test drove, Fantastic! At that point, I paid them the cash balance and signed the sales order. 150 miles later the shit started. Shifter service light and locked in park. I went to the local dealer and paid $310 for a new shifter unit, and installed it. Life is good. 75 more miles and it went crazy again. Removed and cleaned all ground wires, that worked for 3 days. It would limp home then the next morning would have cleared itself. A top mechanic friend went through it and cleaned every plug and contact and change that green can buss. 1500 miles later the crap started again. Ok, something is getting hot and failing and the time between fails continued to get shorter. I have the double row 20 port green can buss behind the glove box. The leftmost front row wire felt a little loose and when I wiggled briskly it up and down it would clear for a few miles and the period of time between failures kept getting shorter. I put another can buss in yesterday and 40 miles later it is still behaving. The Grand Cherokee and Ram pickups have much in common with these monsters. Are they having similar problems?

I am convinced the can buss is not up to par,
Either it is a low-quality part or it is mounted in a poor location (or a combination of both). During the winter with the heater in use, that area builds up quite a bit of heat which isn't good for electronics. The other day, we had the top down, AC not running and my wife opened the glove box to get something out and commented that it was really warm inside it - so even during summer, heat builds up in that area. Maybe if it was located somewhere less prone to heat build-up, the part wouldn't fail as often as it does.

@Corey_schissler You have a 2022 Wrangler, I would be making Jeep figure it out. As long as I didn't mess with the electrical parts etc. You start replacing parts might end up with a bill if you need the dealer to fix it. Lot of the guys in this thread are out of warranty and fixing it themselves.

Just my advice for what it is worth.

But I added trail cam and blind spot so they’re going to say it’s that but we don’t know that for sure

Update: I pulled all my connections from the CAN BUS located in the glove compartment. Cleaned all contacts and placed contact grease on them. It’s been just over a week without any issues. Hopefully just a bad contact and it’s resolved.
Was this the fix for this issue in video below?
