What codes did you get? Shortly after the cold weather arrived, I've been getting P0303 (misfire cylinder 3) & P0203 (injector circuit cylinder 3). I wonder if my main battery is weak. My aux has been out of the loop for maybe a year.
If you switch to "Online and ship to you" on Costco's web site, the price goes up $50. I didn't follow thru the checkout process to see if they also add shipping charges to that which might bring it up to Amazon's Prime free-shipping price.
When my 2010 Camaro V6 was fairly new, I read this debate on the Camaro forums. I decided to try all 3 grades to see which was best. I had a 42.5 mile drive to work. That was my test route. I would run a tank on one grade, then on the next fill-up of the same grade, I would drive to work trying...
A lot of those symptoms match the problem I had and replacing the green canbus connection block behind the glove box solved things for me (as well as for lots of others on this forum).
That's why I don't use them anymore. Had 1 on my wife's Mazda Protege about 20 years ago. She was on a 2 lane road behind someone turning left. Asphalt was higher than the shoulder that my wife decided to use to go around the other car. Fortunately, she was only a half mile from her parents'...
It slides out - left or right, I don't remember which. Look at the bottom side of the replacement and you'll see the 2 clips and be able to determine which way it slides out. No need to remove any bracket.
Either it is a low-quality part or it is mounted in a poor location (or a combination of both). During the winter with the heater in use, that area builds up quite a bit of heat which isn't good for electronics. The other day, we had the top down, AC not running and my wife opened the glove box...
Another cause for all the dash lights and loss of power steering is the green can-bus block behind the glove box. I had issues multiple times each day and after replacing the green can-bus block - over 6,000 miles ago - I haven't had a single issue.
$13 on ebay for 2 blocks & 10 minutes to...
I have put precisely 5,913 miles on it since replacing the green block and have had zero issues. I know the precise mileage because I just finished an oil change and I document the mileage whenever I do anything. :)
I had issues until I replaced the green can bus block. When I examined the old one, I could not see any corrosion or damage to it. It still could be the culprit in your case. $13 on ebay and 10 minutes to replace. It's worth trying.
