Yes I agree, but they never explained how 48 volts of electric power is going to jump into the drivetrain on takeoff to rush you away from a stoplight, or up a hill, or up a sand dune. It's a great concept and no one knows anything about it. They spent millions developing it and then suddenly dropped it in favor of the tiny Aux battery concept which is a nightmare just waiting to happen. Imagine, when the aux battery goes away it takes the main battery down with it! It's planned obsolescence all over again. In a vehicle that is supposed to go where no other vehicle can go.

In December, I replaced the OEM AGM battery with the Genesis Gen 3 Dual Battery System with Odyssey batteries and so far has been working great.

What is the advantage of running the Genesis system on eTorque models? Is it simply for accessories? I thought the main point of the Genesis setup was to eliminate the smaller battery the non-eTorque models are equipped with.

For my winch, air compressor, refrigerator., flash light charger, and to ensure my starter battery will start my vehicle out in the boonies. The air compressor is approx 75 amp draw, and the refrigerator will pull about 8 amps on a hot day.

'21 with 52k. No issues apart from the 12v battery failed after 4 weeks of ownership(I'm the 2nd owner). No further issues since then.

Its much different imo. Just my opinion but I have a Rubicon completely loaded and my Bronco has the V6 with a Ford Performance Tune and completely loaded minus Sasquatch. Both 2 doors.

Honestly, the Jeep is just more fun. I maintain this posture even driving 25 miles one way to work from suburbs to downtown major city. From seating position and how you can clearly see top down, to turn radius being so maneuverable on the dime, and etorque being so peppy off the line for spirited driving in the City, the bounce and feeling the road.

There is so many things that are easy to take for granted from my point of view with the Jeep after owning both. Bronco has long doors so parking even for someone not carrying a gut can be a challenge in parking garages or narrow spaces climbing in and out, just feels so much larger though its not. Bronco drives better on the road, more like an SUV which is pretty boring to me but huge for others. Bronco is a great vehicle and the GOAT modes are absolutely legit. We had some wild snow this year and insane ice and I couldn't believe how well this handled in those conditions. Absolutely no question, if Jeep had an etoque 2.0L right now I'd grab it though. I ordered both and paid cash.

Bronco immediately had me wanting to do things that made it feel more like a Jeep. On the flip side the Jeep had me wanting to add things for no reason at all because it just always leaves a smile on my face. Bottomline it's just the differing personalities of the 2. I am not a rock crawling pro or anything but for me, I'd trust my Jeep to get me out of places I wouldn't even consider taking the Bronco and I have no idea why I feel that way.

Reliability, I had a few things with the Jeep. 1) Nav died. Was replaced under warranty. 2) infamous torque screw issues with a pump or hose I can't remember that required a tow. Cheap fix but out of pocket. Bronco, 1) a harness wasn't connected to the fuel pump. Dealership just secured it. 2) Recall for something with the shocks I don't recall but they're waiting on the parts. I have 15,000 miles on it.

I frequent the boards not just because I own the Rubi but in hopes information leaks on etorque 2.0l option or next gen. Well and all the legends around here.

None of this is to say the Bronco isn't great, but Jeep would have to drop the 2 door for me to continue on the Bronco platform or drop the bag in other areas we see discussed here quite a bit. Like outlandish pricing.

Completely off subject, but I'm debating going back to a JL. I had a '21 JLUR (and for 15 years before that a JKU), and I was going to keep it when the Bronco I reserved back in 2021 came in in March 2023. The Bronco won mostly on the 7MT, and the fact that it was big enough for 2 doors to fit everything gear wise I wanted and came with washout interior.

I'm finding myself wanting to go back to a Jeep here and there, and if I do so, in a 2 door. I'm interested in what Joose looks like when it comes out, but if Hella Yella ever became available I'd be all over it.

In any case, anything else in a Bronco vs Jeep 2 door comparison that you can identify? I'm not a big rock crawler, both of them do whatever I need off-road wise. The main reason I stick with one or the other is I'm at the beach a ton and loading sandy/wet gear in and out, and I like having no doors/top in the summer.

Sky One Touch is a Jeep only option and only available in a 4 door (I know you said 2 doors) BUT when it starts raining cats and dogs on the beach you will thank God that you have it even without the doors on. Also the back side windows pop out on the SOT. I thought the rear cargo window was going to pop out as well but not sure Jeep did that feature in 2024/2025.

2021 with e-torque, 28.000 miles, not a single issue, original 12 volt battery which I will be replacing before failure. Had 2 JK’s bought new before I ordered this one in 2020, had issues with the 2012. This one seems solid, no issues!

I think I'm the first 2018 in this thread, with a 2.0 that I've owned back since "Tried & True" was considered a valid argument. No issues with eTorque, but I did notice that the 48V system can mask a failing 12V battery. Not really an issue, but sometimes eTorque and the torque converter lockup are not as seamless as I would like.

I've also been a little concerned with the DC-DC converters cooling capacity (or maybe it's the actual battery cooling circuit). On hot days it delivers less voltage to the 12V side (like 13.6V at its lowest). Still enough to function correctly, but a big enough change that I watch it. Cold days are up to 14.2V.

Purely opinion but man the 2 door bronco soft top is absolutely the worst to put on and it’s ugly af since it doesn’t sit all the way back and I’m not a fan of the slant. Everyone’s been begging Bestop to make another. Nice thing about your situation is softtop from the factory. I used to go from hard top to softtop on my Jeep but it’s has the soft top for a few years running now only.

Actually, I have a hard top from the factory and I've had zero issues with it. I go hard top 6 months a year, then straight to a bikini top (garage kept/work from home) and if it rains in it while I"m out, oh well. Bikini top is pretty solid, similar to JL Bestop.

I don't really mess with a soft top because it would take up more garage space, and I want a quick throw on/throw off top in the summer.

20k Km on my 3.6 2023, no issue just some complaint about the start / stop windows not giving much info about the status of the e-torq especially when it is cold outside.

2023 JLUR Rubi XR with 28,000 miles. No issues. I'm still on the original windshield. I think that's because I have a self-installed film on there that works great. I've taken plenty of rock hits (but thankfully no lug nuts). Of course I did just jinx myself.

46k on mine, original battery. I like the extra torque. I like the system more than I thought I would. Don't use the stop start though, Tazer keeps that off for me. Did the diffs with ARB covers last year.
