Amazing that we have 7 pages of threads and nearly everyone has had no problems with it. This may be a new record for Jeep reliability and a great tribute to the e-Torque system in the FCA V6.
The system is so good in fact that the new 4Runner also has it.

In cold temps, the electronic start/stop system will often show "not ready" either due to the HVAC still working to get the cabin to your programmed temperature (turning HVAC off seems to avoid this) - or because the generator is still working to recharge the 48V Lithium battery (or the 48V is still recharging the 12V AGM) - or when stopped on an incline greater than ~4° up or down.

Don't believe the eTorque cooling system does anything to regulate the battery temp when parked overnight and Lithium batteries seem to lose charge a lot quicker in very cold temps.
the outside temperature is a big player in the start / stop working or not. In cold day I can understand the battery need time to warm up and charge but even after hours of usage still not ready. In fact this is where my complaint come from, maybe add detail to the not start / stop page to let us know what exactly is preventing the start / stop to engage so we can understand what is happening and not flying blind.

Don't forget the 2.0 was the original eTorque option.

It's fun "launching it" from a dead stop.
Part of that is the 2-door's ridiculous weight transfer. When my JLR was stock it would top out the front shocks on a hard launch.

Agree. Mine will show "steep incline" if that's what is causing the ESS to not work, so it should be possible for it do the same for other reasons (temp/HVAC, batteries still charging, etc).

Just by following my voltage levels and ESS behaviour, everything's usually good to go after my first 30 to 45-minute drive of the day (and much sooner if temps are warm). If you're still getting "ESS not ready" after an hour of driving, I'm guessing maybe your primary 12V AGM battery is on its way out.

nah just cold, my primary spend a good chunk of is life on the tender. One day it is 5F and no start / stop next day will be 20F start / stop after 10 minutes. At this point I got it narrow down pretty good, just sad that I needed to spend all that time observing it and such while just a quick message in the dash would have tell me.

2023 Rubicon. 12V battery went bad at 10k miles. Dealer took 3 days to replace it and missed promised deadlines twice. Otherwise, I like the way it drives. My take on the 12v battery is it's a low quality battery with a high failure rate.
