Just wanted to follow up with a few more pics. After thinking about the obvious...I'm sure the bolt didn't back off because of the pin but please take a look at the pics and tell me if these look to be installed correctly. Any help is much appreciated!

Mine are in the Reid knuckles but they’re seated to the boot….. I haven’t installed the dyna tracs in the aluminum knuckle yet, I’ve installed a half dozen or more but they all had upgraded steel knuckles, so I can’t say if yours are normal or not……

not sure what's right, but that's not what mine look like.

i have the factory cast knuckles, but i'd expect them to be installed the same.

EDIT:
correction; our Willys came with aluminum knuckles.

So I stopped by the shop that did the install (Just Jeeps in Austin, TX) and the owner told me that everything looked normal and that they were seated as far as they could go. I guess I'll take his word for it ?

Installed yesterday. It won't last long.

I cleaned all the grease off mine today.

Damn those RCVs throw it everywhere
Worth it though. I've seen so many broken axle u-joints from spinning/hopping with the wheel turned. The only thing weaker than the factory D44 front axle shafts/u-joints is the FAD. Finally got my axle trussed too.

I would reach out to Dynatrac and see what they say. I agree that looks off. BUT I have also not replaced my ball joints.

I actually kept the FAD on the RCVs. I didn't like to idea of extra wear from the front driveshaft constantly spinning, and the potential for vibration. If it ever fails, I bet I'll wish I deleted.

I keep the FAD too. Sorry for my confusing post. The FAD housing on the axle is the weakest. That's why I got my axle trussed, so it wouldn't break at the FAD. My RCV's keep the fad, their 95% as strong as the no FAD option and much stronger than the R&P.

Where is least expensive place to buy Dynatrac ball joints? Any discounts out there?
