So totally stupid question… how do you get the additive into the tank? Neither of my funnels will go past the metal stopper.
Learned a trick from another EcoDiesel owner on this site -- I just put it into the filler neck opening -- upstream of the nozzle discriminator. There's a small hole there that allows it to drain into the tank.

Hmm I don’t think I got one with mine. At least I know what I need now. Thank you

*edit* found it, you’re awesome thank you!
You can one at Amazon very cheap.

You may also buy on Amazon a spare one.

Hmm, I just pour it directly in. Just a little slowly so it doesn't overflow.

I'm putting in about an ounce every fillup, is that too much?

I HATE when the additive (hotshots or archoil) spills a little and the entire jeep smells like diesel for days. The archoil is the worst, the tiny cap doesn't tighten well.

Depends what additive you are using. I use optilube xpd and it calls for around 4oz for 16 gallons.

I run the cheapest AmPm diesel fuel I can find. I don’t use additives. I change my fuel filter about every 15-20k miles. I’m the guy they tell you not to talk to. Enjoy your diesel.

I'm sure the AmPm # 2 diesel still better than the California bio crap that seems to be seeping into more and more fuel stations everywhere. Just one of a thousands reasons to move out of this crap hole Newscum state.

is it specifically BioDiesel or Renewable Diesel you’re objecting to? (both are Biofuels.)

what exactly do you object to about it/them?

Both. Subpar performance, poor fuel mileage, added stress to our fuel pumps and more frequent fuel filter change. Finally ANYTHING pushed/forced by Newscum.... not one of the filling stations during my summer travels this year through Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho did I see bio or renewable diesel but far more diesel platforms then found in Calcraphole.

I think you're conflating the two. Biodiesel can exhibit the problems you mention (although, ironically, it has higher native lubricity than ULSD so as long as it's high quality should actually be better for fuel pumps). But renewable diesel is nearly identical to the dino juice -- the only downside is it's more expensive, which is why you don't see it in states that don't mandate it.

sounds like a little confusion here; BioDiesel actually has better lubricity than any additive according to the testing we've seen, so that should be *good* for the pumps.
while it may have a higher viscosity than PetroD at lower temps, that's not a problem if you're not talking Snow Country temps (though i've used straight BioD there too in another vehicle).
we're not going to find BioD in a higher than a few percent blend (up to 20%) these days in most places, but that's OK, since it only takes a few percent to get the Lubricity benefits.
there shouldn't be any problem with filters if we don't have a bunch of crud built up in the fuel system, but its higher Solvency will definitely clean out anything that's built up in the tank and wash it downstream into the filter(s). most of us DieselGeeks are already changing filters more often than it would take to see any issue anyway.
note that i'm talking about commercially produced BioD here, not homemade fuel. if you're brewing it up in your own Appleseed Processor in the back yard, all bets are off (even though that can be made to work too).
regardless, BioD has been given a bad rap now due to some testing that showed it created higher NOx in some vehicles, along with misunderstandings about some of the issues mentioned above. but when i can find a pump where it's listed at a percentage that's acceptable to VM Motori and Stellantis (20% or less), that's my additive!

Renewable Diesel does seem to deliver a few percent less fuel economy and power in my experience and was reported early on to have lower Lubricity. but it also seems to run so much cleaner i see the Particulate percentage build up slower. (ironically, it's cheaper than most PetroD in my area, which i think is a bigger reason it's showing up more than any Politiker.)

It's a psyop to drain your Bank account don't do it
Honestly, you might be right.
But it's a good psyop, and at the minimal cost of HS EDT, I'll probably keep using it, at least for some peace of mind.
