So this would be an android auto issue?
What about iPhone? Anybody here with iPhone experience the same issue?
Yes, me. Iphone connect via BT, and also through carplay. Volume defaults back to 15 all the time. Very annoying

So the issue is the radio. Please push an update with the following addons.

- remember last volume setting so don't reset to 15 each time
Or
- a setting to adjust default volume for bluetooth device

To me the first option would be the easier one to implement.

Most of the posts I've seen (mine included) have referred to iPhones and experiencing this issue.

^^didnt work. Went to the gym and when I came out and tried it the volume was reset to 15. This is not just an issue for the Jeep. When I googled it other cars and systems had the same issue.
Thanks a lot for the update, Saejin. I checked our systems and didn't see any service bulletins with information on how to possibly disable this. At this point, connecting with your dealer to get their input is recommended.

Hey there, any update on this? It's unreal how loud it gets. I'll be happy to visit the dealer, but it would be good to know if this has become a "known" issue. I just about jump out of my seat when anyone calls. -Thanks!

I haven't seen anything new on the topic, and nothing I've tried has worked. My phone volume always returns to 15.

This is the most annoying thing ever. My phone rings constantly for work and I have no way to drive without blowing my ear drums out. Who in the hell listened to the default volume of the phone ringer and thought "yeah, this is perfect, we don't need to let anyone change this"!

This really needs to be fixed ASAP. @JeepCares you need to let us change the ringer volume!!!!!!

As this is tied to the navigation volume as well I can confirm if you mute CarPlay navigation that setting is saved. I no longer have Siri yelling at me to make a left turn.

@JeepCares This is one of a few no brainers that need to fixed on the JL. Here's some obvious shortcomings:

1. Receiving calls when using Android Auto is way too loud with the volume stuck on 15.

2. The rear seat is too upright...needs to be able to recline or adjust the positioning back a few inches.

3. Allow the driver seat to drop another 1-2" to make it safer for taller drivers. I'm 6'4" and my head is right by the roll bar.

4. Please reduce the size of the key fob and add proximity unlock feature to all jeeps when the key fob is near the car. It's annoying to have to put down groceries and dig through your pocket to push the gigantic key fob everytime you w
drive your car.

5. You did a good job adding the 1 touch window roll down feature, now please add the same feature to rolling the window up

6. Add a front collision detection system

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? I have had my JLR equipped with 8.4 u-connect NAV for a month now, but only just used Apple maps via Apple CarPlay for navigation. I experienced the same volume issue previously noted where the volume resets to max at the next turn, regardless of what volume I try to set. This is very annoying and setting the volume to mute kind of defeats the purpose.

I had a major upgrade done to my jl sound system. I really hate to be in the vehicle when a phone rings or a text alert sounds off. It literally will make you jump out of your clothes :). There NEEDS to be something done quickly, otherwise in my case the hands free is useless! I can't even have the blue tooth on, it blows the roof off when the alert goes off. Come on FCA, get off you arses and get this fixed, NOW!!

Itā€™s really strange this hasnā€™t been fixed yet. I have the same system in my grand Cherokee and when I adjust the voice volume it remains at that setting every time. Since this thread was started a year ago it appears Jeep has no intentions of fixing the issue.

FWIW - In the Waze app (on the phone), the volume of the directions can be adjusted. Go into the settings in the app on the phone.

Haven't played around with the volume during calls or the ringer... but it is loud. Need to try the trick with the volume knob and not just the buttons on the back of the steering wheel.

Also found that phone calls always seem to come through BT even when using AA (USB cable). I seem to recall a error message once when the BT was turned off on the phone... I'll need to validate next time in the vehicle.
