This is still an issue. Took my Jeep in for Oil and Tire Rotation, they said I needed a software update to the radio. 4 hours later the update was done. However this still is an issue. Phone rings really loud over the radio, and the person on the other side is really loud. Tried adjusting with steering wheel and radio knob. Goes back to 15 when you restart the car.

Yep. Getting tired of this. Phone rings and scares the crap out of you. We need a solution.

This would be a great fix. Illinois just made it a moving violation to hold a cell phone, so I use Bluetooth in my other vehicles. However I donā€™t use it in the JL as itā€™s just too darn loud when it rings or dings! Help @JeepCares

The trick is to match the radio volume... then when the phone rings its not as big a difference. :)

Hi Kraty1,

Have you tried adjusting the volume on the phone once the Bluetooth is connected?

@JeepCares; Adjusting the volume when connected works fine, once someone calls you and it rings, the volume increases to 15+ and the only way to turn the volume down at that point is to turn the volume knob. Next time someone calls, the ring volume reverts back to 15+. It renders bluetooth/carplay/android auto useless for phone calling. There needs to be "set volume limits" implemented into the uconnect settings.

@JeepCares It doesn't matter how or when the phone and/or stereo volumes are adjusted, the system always resets to 15.

It reallly needs to be addressed, and any help you could provide would be more than appreciated.

I just about jump out of my skin when the phone rings. Hell, it even scares me when I dial a number and rings on their end. Way too loud to not be adjustable.

Thanks!

It should also be addressed that when I plug in my Samsung Galaxy S9+, the volume defaults to 4 for any music player app and cannot be adjusted by the knob, the steering wheel buttons nor phone. Makes Android Auto useless for me. It was working fine a few AA versions ago.

I've been having the ring volume issue for almost 10 months now with my UConnect 7"(Bluetooth or wired to my iPhone) and have been told that "15" is the default ring volume and there is no way to change it. The 4th time the Wrangler went into service, they updated the firmware to version 182808, which did absolutely nothing @JeepCares. Has anybody had any luck?

I am still in the same boat as you. I went to my local dealer and asked for the TSB to correct the ring volume. When I showed up, after they held my car for a day, they told me they reset my radio and it works..... it doesnt. I will try a new dealer at some point. Currently, I am driving with "Do Not Disturb" on so I dont scare myself off the road when the ringtone jumps to max!

OK, I did receive a reply today from Jeep and they recently released "TSB is 08-084-19 REV. A," which addresses and I quote: "Ring tone too loud" along with 19 (nineteen! other radio issues). I would have liked to have seen something like "MASTER ring volume control," but oh well. Am waiting on Jeep to communicate with the dealer to see if they have tried this fix on any other Jl's and what the result was. Will update...

@6Wranglers , did you hear back from Jeep regarding the new TSB? Did they happen to give you a pdf of the TSB?
