I think they have both I just am not sure about the quality of the speakers and amps they have available
I am more concerned with speaker placement and direction though.. We could put the best speakers into these and have them face out the back of the Jeep and completely mess up the soundstage.

Running topless the sound received from the speakers facing away from you would be residual off-axis.
Running with a top the sound would be bouncing all over the place before getting to our ears which would grossly mess up the time alignment and the EQ as some frequencies would be absorbed by the interior while others would not.

Having the soundbar face the rear of the Jeep is more for shows and tailgating events. Maybe that's what they were going for?

These are the ones that mount where your current sound bar is facing down

So what kind of speakers did you end up with?
Is the unit plug and play and did you get the amp?
I went with their neo midrange speakers, they're the high end ones. I actually went to their warehouse since I'm local and I saw another Jeep that had their wateproof speakers with the RGB lights in them and they also sounded really good, I just don't get the inside of my Jeep wet and I don't care much for all those lights in them.

I did a lot of research online about their bars and their speakers and the majority of the reviews were pretty good

Anyone ever pull the trigger on this soundbar? If so what else did you do as far as upgrading factory front speakers?

I also hope someone makes one soon. There was an awesome one for the JK that housed 4 - 8” woofers. Hopefully we get a similar one soon.
I have a DS18 JL soundbar. I live the way it looks and sounds.

What did you do for the front speakers? I watched a video about the alpine system which stated the knee speakers should be left factory and to just change the top corner speakers to c2s for better performance. With these sound bars seems like you’ll need some type of mixture of speakers added to the front aswell. And a whole lotta bass

Decided to just upgrade my speakers. Didn’t realize that the speakers in the JLU were 4” and not 6.5”. So had to modify the overhead and order new boxes for dash to fit 6.5”. Stayed with stock radio and installed dsp, amp and put 12” shallow sub on the tailgate. Turned out really well and very happy with the results.

What 2 12’s where used? I’m between ds18 rear tailgate mounted subs or 2 12 kicker l7s but not sure the l7s will fit in my cargo area I measured roughly and a tight squeeze about 33 inch of usable width in my trunk of my 2 door. And the box is half an inch bigger. Maybe my measurements are wrong?

I tried just replacing the 3.5"s and 4"s in the sound bar with JL Audio C2's, and they just weren't enough. I ended up just cutting out the soundbar, making a simple hardboard panel, and putting Focal Access 3-way components (6.5+3+1), and an extra set of tweeters. I repeated the same speakers for the front stage.

THIS is phenominal...great job!

I bought the SSV Works JJT-SA065 6.5" JL & JT Soundbar Speaker Adapter, looking to install these soon and putting some 6 1/2s in.

Was there any trick to taking the soundbar out? I messed with it some yesterday, but it seemed it was stuck on something around the middle in the dome light. I know i'm missing something. Any insight you can give ?

Hey Jrowephoto. The soundbar is kind of a pain to take off. I installed the SSV adapters last weekend to prep for the Alpine PSS-23WRA install project this weekend.

There are two clips on that dome light. After taking off the 10mm bolts and the 3 torx screws holding it in place, the middle of the soundbar has a handful of clips as well and it takes some force to pop off.

There’s a good write up in one of the longer threads with a step by step but I can’t find it now.
