Just ask @cosine he knows!
Yeah, we’re still talking it over…… I looked under the hood, there’s something living on the engine…….? ….. and from the looks of it, I really doubt he drove it there……. The tires are brand new, and it looks like the headlights are new but it just looks like it’s not ran for more than one year……..? …..

Haven't checked your thread in a while Roky, looks like a fun project there, that engine bay looks just like my 74 CJ-5 except I replaced the 304 w/ an AMC 401 :)
Happy New Year BTW!

Nice build, now that you have had some time on it what do you think?
I'm interested in the locker engage mod. do you know the part number for the wire harness? What did you use for a cap on the old plugs?
You replaced the tcase shifter with B&M transfer case shifter because?
In the picture of the tcase shifter there is a pocket that sits there, do you remember where you got this?
I'm just into my 2nd year of offroading and building my JLUR. When I come across someone that has taken the time to research what they put into thier build I like to take that info and use that.

Thanks James ……. I’m really enjoying my rig……it’s been a blast working on it……

Here’s my thread on the locker hack, the part number is in there, but if you get the Tazer JL mini, you can use the lockers anytime just like the hack, and it won’t throw any dash codes……the caps are just some 3/4” plastic caps you can get at hardware store……..

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/lockers-whenever-i-want-them.18939/

I switched out the T-case handle cause I love the way it looks, and it does provide more leverage……We wheel/ trail ride etc.. more than most, so it gets used quite a bit…..

This is the link to the storage pockets……..

I know what you mean about leverage needed sometimes.
I do have the tazer mini, but you mentioned about the BLD trying to do its thing. I took it that even if you have the lockers engaged sometimes it will take it out because it isn't meeting its paramerters for keeping the lockers engaged.

in reading more in your post you mention about automatically brakes being applied.
I have the auto transmission and when in manuall select, when offroading Im allways in, going down hill using the gears for keeping your pace low, I have found that the brakes get applied and released. If using 2nd gear it will let the motor up to 3000 apply the brake and drop til approx. 2400 and release the brakes and keep doing this. Have you the same?

When I was talking about bld I was in 4H and not locked. My 2018 you can only use lockers in 4L…. The newer models might have changed that, I’m not sure….. the tazer lets you lock up in 4H and use rear lockers in 2wd, and they stay locked until you unlock….

I know the newer models got some upgrades to the off-road system, but not sure what exactly they did….. mine is one of the first ones ever built, lol…

that's interesting mine is 2021, yours being 2018 I thought all JLs are the same.
In 2018 they still offered the JK, do you have that? The picture looks like a JL.
Maybe they have made some changes in the JL lineup. I have the 3.6L, 8speed tran.
I do have the etorque though, as well the 4auto as well as 4high, hence the front axles have CV joints.

I have the JL, 3.6 auto….. they’ve just made upgrades to them each model year… they look the same, but there’s more features in the newer models……

Trouble in paradise……..I checked clearance on the new steering linkage from every angle of articulation, since flexing is where I usually have clearance issues. It never entered my mind that I would have issues just turning to lock driver…..I thought that I was hitting the turn stop when in fact I was hitting the stabilizer with the drag link….

I’ve been discussing this with RK, but they’re telling me that the Pro X steering only works with the steering stabilizer in the factory location unless you flip the drag link.... well that would’ve been good to know before I got it, but it’s not in any of the instructions/ literature on their website. Don’t know why……that’s an ongoing discussion I’m still having……

I’ve modified my synergy track bar bolt, cut a 1/4” off of it. Replaced the bolt that holds the SS on with a flathead bolt. This got me closer to full turn driver but still will hit if I try to hit the turn stop….. RK is saying now, that they’ve got a bracket in the works and supposedly it comes out in late February…

Jeep Wrangler JL Crystal Rubi build… 88D15697-7408-4B47-A2C5-DAE89F7B01F9

I’ve tried a few different brackets, but they made it hit worse…. I’ve got a MC bracket coming, be here Tuesday. It raises the SS above the TB bolt, and might give me enough clearance. I’m also going to try the Clayton, it also raises it, but also shifts it towards driver side…… so we shall see…..

These linkages are pretty sweet otherwise and I really like the design of the ends, so I’m gonna try my best to make it work………?‍?

Lol….. that actually is a good question….. when I made my initial post back then that was one of the pics in my post, and when I pushed the “post reply” button it was there….. I honestly don’t know how….. I can’t figure out how to change it or remove it , or anything….. I’ve since changed pics in that first post over the years and that pic isn’t in there anymore but that pic hasn’t budged, lol, so if you figure it out please let me know….. ?
