Cooling problems with 3.6

Just gotta be careful with it, or you’ll end up with every fin of the radiator being flattened and air flow completely shut off.

pressure washing anything with such thin gauge metal would destroy whatever cooling capacity is left even if he were to take it out from under the hood first. Simple hose with a garden gun is the most one would want to attack it with. I agree with the poster ...replace radiator.. it will help in the long run.. the cold case brand is the only one that I was able to find that claims higher capacity ..however I question their quality - durability

That looks to be it! Thanks!, looks like its ~170$, Also, do you know of a guide or video that shows how to swap it? I know i've got to take the grille off at least...

Also, it makes sense that dirt buildup could be the issue considering the amount of mud I've put the vehicle through in the past 4 years - although I think coolant may also be an issue since it looks kind of brown rather than the red I think it is supposed to be.

I think I read somewhere that there is a bigger one for the 392 or something? Not sure - but good advice - makes sense to not pressure wash it since I could bend the cooling vents

This is not completely true, i work for a company that pressure washes hvac coils(evaporators) small ones to very large ones, you need to be careful how much pressure the machine uses and the type of spray pattern or tip for spray gun, I've never damaged a coil at work but I've seen it happen

well I posted the picture of the overflow reservoir for the coolant, looks brown to me, maybe you can tell me otherwise?

Picture is on page 2, it looks okay. No funky residues, just mileage. Drain and refill of coolant when replacing radiator will take care of that, unless the head gasket is blown of course.

Would you say its okay to use a lower powered pressure washer if I put it directly towards the coils - so I don't pressure them down that is?

I frankly wouldn't do or recommend especially to someone who needs an instrctional on how to remove a rad

You would need to remove the radiator to clean it properly. Then it will probably leak.

I agree, the process isn't difficult but its easy to make matters worse, should just replace radiator I think in this situation, or at least make sure there's no air in the system

I would recommend hose end sprayer through the fan blades and see how much stuff is in what flows out... if theres a lot then go ahead and take apart .. or replace dont do more work then u have to
