Well...I cracked and bought a Mishimoto aluminum radiator for our diesel. Prolly gonna take 10 days to 2 weeks to receive and after the install, we're heading off for a few weeks pulling the trailer.
I sure hope it helps control the temperature issue. If it drops 10f on the high end I'll be happy.
They said look for 15 to 25f drop but we'll see.
Damn expensive experiment if it doesn't work.
It's so new there's just no reviews so I'm the guinea pig.
Bought the same one! Just received it. Also bought their transmission cooler even though we don't have transmission issues I figured while they're doing the install I'll have both done at the same time. Now coming up with the install $$ after buying these two, set me back. As soon as I get them installed I'll be sharing my 3.0 diesel results as well.

I mentioned my temperatures. My second post was directly from multiple 3.0 owners and ever did the research on the ram 3.0. The Jeep 3.0 runs the same radiator as the 3.6L and it’s I’ll barley capable of keeping the 3.0 happy while under load. You are nothing more than a keyboard warrior mate. Have a great day getting offended seeming I was never in this forum for you. Grow up

Awesome you and @Wrangler man can let us know. Although I don't have any issues up here since air temp is always cool, it has been actually cold winter rarely getting out of the 50s and many 40s days this summer. Feels like a perpetual spring really. Think we had one or two days in 70ish!

All credit to @zouch, who originally shared the info. on this product. Didn't take me long to make the purchase. Since then I moved up to 38s and got rid of the crappy OEM plastic fender inner liners. Installed high line fenders with moderately vented inner liners. This too I think was "part" of the heating problem seems to run slightly cooler.

So I had my first "limp mode" tonight. I came home from a drive with the girlfriend (mostly interstate). When we got home we were there about 10 minutes and then headed back out to a friends house to drop something off (only a couple miles away). When we left the friends house I was going up a hill and had no power, then as I kept driving I came up to another hill and it would not go above 25mph with my foot to the floor.
I pulled over and check the stats. 204 Water temp, 212 - 217 Oil Temp, and 204 Trans Temp.
Although warmish, I don't see a need for it to have gone into limp mode.

Anyway I took the girlfriend back home and shut it down to inspect some things. I ran a scan and found no errors of importance. I took it for another test ride for around 10 miles and found a big hill to take it up and had no issues. Now I am perplexed if this is a bigger issue or just another SOP for the ecodiesel.

Thoughts?

sincerely looking forward to hearing your reports when you get it in!

BTW, as suspected, it turns out these are made in China after all.
here’s the body of an e-mail from Mishi in reponse to my inquiry:

“Thank you for your email. We are an American company that designs, research, prototype, and test all of our products here in New Castle, DE. Our manufacturing is done for us overseas (depending on which product). A majority are manufactured for us to our specs and QC in China. We are always here to help and support our customers. Please feel free to follow up with any additional questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help!

Thank you,

How difficult do you think the change out would be? Any need for any fabrication or new mounting holes etc?

Well I realize haven't installed yet! But if there were instructions

Have the same thing but my Dash lit up like a Christmas tree. It was the second time it happened both times I still had the auxiliary battery. And yes I pulled the fuse after the first time and the negative cable and still had the Phantom problems. First time because the loss of power I had to have it flat bedded to the dealership and we all know how that goes so I won't even go there. I'm perplexed that you had no codes for any warning lights on the dash. Since I completely eliminated and removed the auxiliary battery knock on wood I have not had that scenario again. I'd be curious what's your voltmeter said before and during that time. Mine used to bounce all over the place.

I spoke in length to the folks over there at Mishimoto Automotive. They said it is OEM compliant and should go right into place with reinforced bushings and extra engineering in the vulnerable places. They don't anticipate any problems whatsoever. They said they stand behind their product and if there was any failure of any kind while Wheeling hard or not they would replace the product free of charge.

So prior to this happening I got a blind spot monitoring error (Ive had them in the past). I restarted the jeep and when I took off down the road this is when it went into limp mode. I dont think the 2 are related but worth noting.
When it went into limp mode I noticed the battery was at 12.7, however it is now at normal levels. The Main and Aux were just replaced a couple months ago with Die Hard batteries.
