Leather dash, side steps, full-time 4WD, lower ride, less aggressive tires...

It's more luxurious than a Rubicon for sure.
I guess I don't see plastic side steps or a leather dash compared to a painted metal one particularly luxurious, but okay.

They still seem to ride the same. Mine is just taller.

Meh, it's just signals towards the intended use. They tried to dress up the Sahara interior (stitched leather dash) and make it more ergonomically friendly (side steps).

We're talking small degrees of difference, sure, but differences.

No idea, I have a Sport S. It rides fine compared to my sports car :)

My Rubicon really does ride like a truck compared to my husband's Audi S5 :whew:

Our Sport S has the Dana 44 w/LSD. And it does ride more truck-like compared to my wife's 2016 Honda CRV, but the ride is close in comparison to our 2002 Honda CRV (Which has been our "Jeep" for the last 17 years. Nice to finally get a real one). I like the truck-like ride.

Best,
-Tim

Nothing in the link or on this thread about being able to upgrade the rear axle on various trims, including the Sport, to a Dana 44 with limited slip differential. If I missed it, I apologize.
I have LSD & Dana 44 on my Sahara

I'm confused about the different models/versions/trim levels on JL Wranglers. We bought a 2019 Wrangler JL 2-door Sport S and love it. When we were looking, we saw Sports (which I'm assuming are the base model), Sport S (like ours), Rubicon (which at our dealer looked and was priced like it was the luxury version), Moab (which I have no idea where this fits into the line) and Sahara (again, priced like a luxury version).

I have since come to find out the Rubicon is not the luxury version, but the version for the most aggressive off-road (is that correct?). And I have no idea where the whole Altitude package fits in.

Would really appreciate if someone could lay out what the different version are, and how they differ from each other.

Thanks.

Best, -Tim
Ahhhhhh... spend every waking moment for the next 6 months on this forum and Jeep.com learning everything you can so YOU know more than any salesperson working for FCA. Then, you will have ALL of your answers and become my Jeep Brother!

So honestly, the only difference between the interior of mine and that of a Rubicon, is the color of the dash panel and the color of the stitching in the seats. A Rubicon still has leather surfaces, just like a Sahara. Yes its dressed up a little over the Sport S but that's just in a hierarchy of trim levels. A Sahara is just as much an off road machine as a Sport and is in no way designed to be some sort of luxury vehicle, nor is it marketed as such.

I just bought a Sport S. As I understand the Sport S is not a separate model, it is the Sport model with a certain option package. Right or wrong? BTW, my last Wrangler was a 1987, they have come a long way in 32 years.

The marketing shows it as a separate model but the window sticker will still say sport, and show the option package that makes it a Sport S.
