Retired from Corrections....I have stories.
I lost the spring. It flew off somewhere in the cab and i’m guessing went down the defroster vents. Does anyone have a part number i can order? Rather not lose a day to the dealership for this.
I took mine in, the dealer ordered a whole new lid. I came home found this thread and fixed it myself. Funny, the tech could have done the same thing I did in two minutes. Instead, they sent it out still broke and I am still waiting for the call for them to fix it.

Wrangler JLU MOAB
Had my JL for 1 week and the handle broke yesterday. Took it by the service center today and the manager told me he's had four brand new JL's in the last week with the same issue. Repair parts are on order. Hope it's a permanent fix.

edit: I should add for reference, my JL is a 2019 MOAB.
Replying to my own post; felt like I should update it. Despite going to the dealer, I went ahead and fixed this thing myself. I used some small washers and super glue. The fix took less than 20 minutes and everything has been working perfectly for the last three weeks. Not sure if the dealer part will ever come in but it doesn't matter anymore - my console is fixed.

Me too. Picked up my Jeep on Friday. Opened it three times and it popped apart. I was able to fix it once I pulled the bottom cover piece off. May have to add some glue.

Mine broke too.. waiting on parts.. how about adding wireless charging while they're replacing it.. throw the old phone in the console, connect via bluetooth.. good to go all around.

The good thing is it is a simple fix. Just a minute or two and it is done.

Mine came apart yesterday..

Managed to place it back together and added glue to the passenger side shaft..

Should not come apart now..

Mine broke after 2 days. The new console is on order. It'll arrive sometime in June.

What I'm hearing is, if it's going to break it's going to break quickly. So when they put the one on I'll quickly open and close it 30 times just to save myself a trip back.

Same deal on my 2nd day of owning.
I get a damn email every time my tire pressure is low...
They should just email out the TSBs. I have a list of issues. Avoiding the ridiculous wait times at stealerships and their BS.

Add me to the list...all of a month old/1500 miles.

Guess I need to pop mine open and see if I can fix it myself - appears that some of the posts here on how to fix it have been deleted, but sounds simple enough.

When I asked the dealer abut a fix this weekend they ordered the part for me, but said it was on backorder with no ESD...so no telling how long that will take. No mention of the TSB when I was there.

Today I finally got the center console lid replaced to fix the broken latch. Dealership had 11 parts in stock. I picked up my vehicle right before closing time and the “service airbag system” warning light came on when I started it up. The warning light stayed on and I received an email alert. Now I have to go back to the dealership with the airbag issue that “needs immediate attention”. It was very difficult for me to leave work to address the console issue so this is a huge inconvenience. It appears that the dealership fixed one thing and screwed up another!
