Center Console Handle Broke

Same issue here. Got loose on the passenger side and then the whole thing came apart.

After not too long handle started to come apart again so decided attempt a fix myself. The silver rod is splined on one end . put some black silicone on where the red arrow is and put vacuum cap on the end like a clip where green arrow is. hoping this will keep the rod from sliding out.

I have a plastic cover hiding the mechanism, how did you get that off?

it snaps in place, just pull it off with your fingers

Looks like replacing the pin with a long bolt and a nylock nut would be a cheap lasting fix. When I am checking online to see how our console organizer products are doing I come across a lot of aftermarket console latches. The OEM latches don't take the beating they should for everyday use.

Mine did the same thing first week of owning. It felt soft or weak after I slid the pin back in. I guess I need to pop the cover to check for a missing or out of place spring.

Me too, picked it up on the 8th, only have 380 miles on it, maybe opened the console 4 or 5 times? Have an appt with dealer Thursday to look at it. How are the DIY fixes holding up for everyone?

So far so good , been holding up fine. left the cover off to keep an eye on it , but it’s been a while and going to put the cover on and consider it fixed.

This handle just came apart on my 2019 yesterday, at less than one month old. I didn't realize I could remove that inspection panel without breaking it until I read it here. I put the latch back together and today picked up a couple sizes of retaining washers. On my next trip out to my garage we'll see if I can get one to fit.
