Center Console Handle Broke

Not necessarily deserving of its own thread but I have had my JL for less than 2 weeks and have maybe only open the center console(the main larger opening) a dozen times; and the handle completely fell apart and fell off last night. No pics but hopefully this isn't foretelling the future and things to come.

This happened to me yesterday you can fix it yourself , pop off the little inspection cover on the bottom and there’s a silver rod that slides right back in place. It looks like it might be missing a clip on one end but it’s pretty easy to put back together. I’m going to try to make a permanent fix myself.

On my ‘19 JLUR the spring snapped right off and out, as if it wasn’t glued on well enough. Very minor inconvenience since the fix is covered under warranty, and the lid is pretty heavy so it doesn’t bounce open when going fast or over rough roads.

Popped the plastic cover off today, looks like an easy fix if I can just get the spring orientation correct.

Does anyone know where I can get an extra spring for this handle? Or have a part number?
I had the same problem, but unfortunately my spring managed to fall down the small hole on top of the console, so it is somewhere unreachable in the console itself.
Talked to dealer, and they can replace entire console under warranty, but not the spring alone... :/
Also it doesn’t seem worth the hassle of tearing apart the center console to find such a marginal part...

Same here, less than two weeks with new JLUSport, noticed handle was cocked when opening. The left side of the clasp/handle mechanism is detached.

Mine is broken as well. Passenger side of the lower handle popped out. 2019 with 1000 miles and a center console that has been opened less than 10 times.

Hoping for a recall on the cheap related handles; others complained about the backseat handles.

Same here. Thought it was the kids opening and slamming it closed. Good to know it is not them...but Jeep. Now to see how long they take to replace with a durable part.....

I was fortunate enough to find the spring, and the rubber half ball that sits on the end of the rod to hold everything in place. We'll see how long it holds.

3rd day with a 19 and same thing. i shortened the cap of a bic pen so that it fits snugly where the red arrow is in post #5. this keeps the silver pin in place. i added a few drops of epoxy to ensure it stays there.
