I had tons of issues with electrical my first 1000mi.
Cruise control, 8.4 screen bugs, rear cam, park sensors.
Hated this new jeep.
It may be a coincidence, but after solidly seating the fuses and relays in the fuse block by the battery, i havent had a single issue since.
Free and easy thing...
Perfect size for most people.
Slight rubs if i crush the bumpstop.
9"rims with -6mm offset.

Tires are on the short side. More like 34in. Accelera mt01.
I had some good advice given to me about electrical a couple days ago.
Didnt really dawn on me, but...open your fuse box and push in all the fuses and relays. A free and easy check.
Still didnt google it did ya.
Or look at the other threads. There are more people that u havent argued with yet.

Please dont misinform others. It ruins the site.

The smoke thing is a wives tale.
Synthetic smokes blue just like conventional. Synthetics are still made from crude.
I have a $50k jeep burning some right now as proof and it can be googled and youtubed.
But this isnt an oil thread...more of a "why does my brand new jeep smoke at all?"
Salted snow roads kill cars. No doubt. However that rusted drain bolt was with 20 miles on the odo in southern cal.
Its rusted when it arrives at the dealer.
In 2019 theres no more excuses.
Heres more from my first day of ownership in so cal.
19 JL 2 door. Jan 2019
About a month after i bought it, 600mi or so, every time i put it in reverse, the rear parksense would act like i was always close to something. Chime like crazy intermittently.
Restarted vehicle and no change.
Restarted the ParkSense feature and it seemed to work...
Auto.
Just went around and rerouted the cable, lubed the connectors and shifted in/out of 4H 4L about 50 times. Still the worst shifting tcase on earth. My dads 71 chevy shifted better...at least more predictably. Its 2019, it should be like butter after having decades to test. Its like they...
Update. Tested on a steep downhill. Not as steep or rocky. Couldnt duplicate.
.
Side note. God the 4x4L shifting sucks. Tractor transmissions shift better. Chinese 4 wheelers shift better. Quite possibly the worst engage/disengagement on any 4x4 ever designed.
Let me know if you can think of...
Thx for the idea. Pushed them in. Definitely werent fully seated, but not bad. i imagine i could find some on most any vehicle.
Found that about half the relays were also not seated like this one. Probably not something id find on most vehicles:

Forward collision and ACC cruise lights came on.
Tried regular cruise. Regular cruise said no and light came on as well.
A trio.
Restarted. No avail, but regular cruise alarm went back off.
Tried regular cruise again about 30min later...all alarms shut off and everything...

Going downhill in 4L 1000rpm and holding. Well controlled. Very slow for a few seconds. Steep grade. 1-3mph. Rocky.
Its like the brakes release. RPMs climb rapidly. Have to apply brakes. Cycle repeats.
Not a smooth typical controlled RPM climb going downhill in any other 4x4.
Went up in the mtns like ive done many times. Roughly 40 to 60F so no shocker temp.
Temp just didnt show.
Had to shut down engine and restart to get it to read again.
