And, yes, I had to send mine back after going to pick it up Wednesday. There were bubbles in the paint, an uneven hinge, and a bolt with missing paint on a hinge. So be sure to look it over!!! Picked it up last night. And it looks pretty good. The inside was DUSTY!!! Guess they don't believe in protecting the inside while the doors are off. I didn't even see the dust until I was pulling out.
Oh man, the dust! That’s the only complaint about my repair. They “cleaned it” but their definition and mine are not the same. I spent about 2 hours this afternoon cleaning the dust out of the interior.

On another note, I’ve had my Jeep back 5 days now and have had time to look it over carefully. I have no complaints with the paint job performed. All the hinges and doors look brand new again and the color matches perfectly.

Got my Rubi Bikini Pearl ‘20 JL back a few weeks ago from the Jeep dealers paint shop. They matched the bubbles areas on the hood, hinges perfectly. The only issue is when the placed the hinges back on the door there are some tiny areas of missing paint where the hinge meets the door as well as paint missing from the hex bolts they needed to remove to get the hinges off. The paint shop said they’d take care of it no problem. Hopefully this fixes the issue. Time will tell.

-It is not yet set in stone for how long you are allotted a rental vehicle, however he said "around 5 days". So no matter how many weeks it takes for your shit to get fixed (like mine), you can only have a rental for a certain amount of time, not the WHOLE time.
-The amount of $ allotted per day for your rental is also still not set in stone, however he said "around $50".
......
^^^THIS IS ONLY FOR THE FCA CORRSION WARRANTY. This could vary greatly if you have your own aftermarket warranty/dealer warranty/etc....
Dang bruh...sorry you are going through it!!!!

What that GM said about the rental is 100%. I think that 5 days Enterprise rental is "the standard" in their warranties. My FCA Added Care Plus Extended Warranty covered 5 days @$50/day as well. They had my Jeep for 44 days (for engine replacement)...and when I spoke to the dealership about the 6th day, they told me I would be out-of-pocket for it. They informed me of this on a Friday, and agreed to pay for 3 additional days on their tab to get me through the weekend. ?
Upon returning it that following Monday, I had to use my motorcycle or my dad's 3500 Ram dually (with over 320k miles on it) to get around for the other 36 days!

Of course I'm not gonna use my dad's truck like I would my Jeep, so I was pretty much grounded for 75% percent of that time. I can't imagine having no other vehicle to use during that time.

It sucks!!! But this is another reason why I'm holding off before I take my Jeep in for the bubbling paint. It was difficult not having it for 44 days...but for me that was necessary bc the engine was a goner (literally could not drive it lol) . But weeks on end for bubbles in paint....nahhh I'ma just wait until it's everywhere on my Jeep or until I feel like it needs to be addressed!

Hang in there!!!

So here's my problem. I have 3 that have corrosion on them. I've talked with a couple of body shops that say they shouldn't have a problem matching. We do have a few around that have a very good reputation for doing quality work, and I've seen some of the work they have done. Of course I ask them what happens if it doesn't match. Are they going to repaint it as many times as needed. Almost all of them say no. I love my Jeep and plan on keeping it till it blows up. If the paint doesn't match, and I can tell it, it will drive me crazy to the point of not even wanting it anymore. The bubbles actually don't bother me as much as worrying about the paint not matching. I still have about a year and half of the corrosion warranty. I'm waiting to see if any more do it. Any suggestions to help with my OCD on the paint? What will happen if I just leave it alone?

If you actually have OCD, then that's the bigger issue than a paint colour. It's a really terrible affliction.

If you're just picky about your vehicle, then demand perfection and take nothing less. That isn't OCD.

If you're just gonna wheel the crap out of it and want to properly protect your hinges, get them LineX'd like I did below. Colour matched as well.

That LineX job on the hinges looks extremely good! I may go this route in the future as well

Well, It's not hard core like some people. I'm considered a mild case in layman's terms. So with a little help it's more or less under control. I do wheel the Jeep as much as possible. I have the entire front end wrapped in Xpel PPF to protect it. This Jeep is the first vehicle I've ever owned this long and still love it like it was the first day. I use, but take care of it as much as possible. I do know seeing it from a distance and knowing it doesn't match will make my world come to an end in my mind. I've asked numerous body shops, and I think they just want me to leave once I start questioning them about repaints if it doesn't look like it matches. It's not just the hinges bubbling, it's around them that is really doing it the most, and for whatever reason that doesn't bother me, and yet I can't drive the thing without doing at least three walk arounds looking it over.

Fair enough. A lot of people say they have OCD when they just mean they're picky.

Ya. Unfortunately, it's just something we have to live with. If I see bubbling anywhere like lower doors, there will be a strip of LineX there soon. Lol.

If the repaint is going to bother you, I'm not sure how you can get around it. Depending on colour, paint match can be challenging.

It's Sting Gray. That is a hard color to match. Doesn't take too much Green or Blue to make it off. Plus it's a flat paint. I guess, at least it's not Silver. To me that and White are the two hardest colors to match.

Yepp! sounds like youre in the same shit storm that im in. its extremely frustrating and ive never had to go through anything near this level of fuckery with any car ive ever owned, and i bought this thing in june.

i went to the body shop today and they said the jeep will be finished sometime early next week. you are correct, the FCA only covers 5 days of rental, but since they know how bad my situation is since i talked to the GM, they are giving me a RAM 1500 fully covered under FCA rental until my Jeep is 100% finished. i told them they might as well just keep the thing and do the engine diagnostics and other bullshit as soon as it gets out of the body shop and i keep the rental, but unfortunatley i will have to have pre-approval to do the engine diagnostic with a FCA-certified tech and that requires an appointment.

one thing that really pissed me off about all of this, and why i pursued to put my foot down and stop at absolutley nothing to get my shit fixed (as i should, i have 2 warranties after all), was when i originally brought my jeep into the dealership a week after i bought it and showed the tech/GM/finance dude my paint being fucked and they knowingly sold me it with this corrosion, they played it off and said "we've literally never seen a jeep with this on it, man you must be the first". then i showed them 150+ pages on this thread, the class-action lawsuit agianst FCA/Stellaris, and then they screened my calls and voicemails until i had to physically go into the dealer and give them the keys and told them they need to diagnose and schedule repairs right now and im not leaving until you guys do.

so when i get to the body shop to drop it off (first time), the chick at the counter said "you wouldnt even believe how many of these we have lined up to repaint and order hinges for". so the fucking GM lied straight to my face. thats cool. so i had a rental for a day and then they called me the day after and said "you need to bring that rental back and youre getting your jeep back because the hinges are on backorder, my bad". then i waited 3 weeks for them to come in. dropped it off again. they said they didnt have any rentals available, come back next week. i went in yesterday and they finally gave me the rental and told me how long to expect it in the shop.

Do not ever buy your shit or absolutely anything from Diehl Auto Group.

Man, I feel bad for you and others with dealers like this. I was complaining about my quoted 3-4 day job taking 3 weeks but my dealer didn’t play any games with me. They put me in a brand new (literally 30 miles on it) Ram 1500 and didn’t attempt to collect a dollar from me for having it 3 weeks. They did a good job paint matching and even fixed a couple scratches that were clearly outside of the scope we originally agreed to.

I have a 2020 rubi jlu and I have bubbles on the hood and hinges. I'm going to wait another year to see what else pops up before I get it fixed. Anyone know of good body shops in the Worcester, Leominster, Nashua area? Thanks in advance.

LOL!!!! That dealership sounds like a HOT MESS!!!! IDK why they thought they could lie to you about the bubbling paint...."you're the first case we've seen". SMH lol.

The wonderful thing is that they are giving you a rental for the duration of your repairs. That's pretty legit! Altho the GM is wrong for lying to you, they at least got the rental part right!

LineX can colour match or you can do it yourself with a can of bedliner and the Mopar colour matched spray paint. I did my AMFIB (pic above is older, before I bedlined and colour matched it) and it came out great.
