I have a 2019 Sahara Unlimited with 32k miles on it and I had the ring gear absolutely shred to pieces while driving on asphalt…..never off-roaded. I went to my local dealership and was told “any modifications void warranty,” and I said that’s not true, that you have to prove it, I found the act “1975 Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.” Explain to me how I am denied by a dealer before they even look into the issue. @JeepCares

It is difficult to reply without knowing what mods, if any, you have done. If you modified the suspension or added larger tires, that could be cause to deny your driveline warranty.

Depending on your mods, you may find a dealer to warranty the repair, while another dealer my deny the repair. Dealers vary.

3. What Is Not Covered
3.1. Modifications Not Covered
A. Some Modifications Do Not Void The
Warranties But Are Not Covered
Certain changes that you might make to your vehicle do
not, by themselves, void the warranties described in
this booklet. Examples of some of these changes are:
• Installing non-FCA US LLC parts, components, or equipment
such as, a non-FCA US LLC radio or speed control.
• Using special non-FCA US LLC materials or additives.
• Modifying the front bumper, vehicle body structure, or
adding aftermarket side steps or running boards.
• Replacing windshields on vehicles equipped with
Advanced Driver Assist Systems with non-FCA US LLC
genuine parts.
• Using aftermarket collision parts.
• Attaching or installing any aftermarket accessories,
including transparent material (e.g. glass tinting) or aftermarket
grilles.
Your warranties do not cover any part that was not
on your vehicle when it left the manufacturing plant or
is not certified for use on your vehicle. Nor do they
cover the costs of any repairs or adjustments that might
be caused or needed because of the installation or use
of non-FCA US LLC parts, components, equipment,
materials, or additives.

If you are running 42's and 3.45 gears, there is not much to prove as to whether or not the design capacity of the axle has been exceeded.
Thanks for capturing the OP’s quote for us to see; apparently it has subsequently been deleted.

Lots of deleted posts by the OP in here. Anyway…… 42s on stock axles and you want a warranty claim….
LOL! I guess I'd delete my posts too if I was running 42's on 3.45s. Folks ask me why I don't go bigger on tires and I always tell them that I'd regear before going with 35's or larger. I'm not doing 35's until I'm willing to drop some coin on getting 4.56 gears.

Yeah...not to mention the performance had to be complete shite.

An 8 speed transmission that can't get out of 4th?

Well that thread didn't turn out like he planned.
My goal was to ask a question and everyone needs to give their opinion on how it drives when that’s irrelevant. It drove very very good surprisingly enough. My plan was to always swap axles and go to 5.38s, just looks like I’m doing it now lmao.

Interesting to see the rpm’s on a Highway lol seems stupid to go that high for some stock tires

RPMS will be almost the same as a rubicon on 33's with 4.56 gears. Thats the correct ratio for a 35" tire. RPM will be fine. Much better then not regearing and thinking its running fine when all you've really done is turn your 8 speed trans into a 6 speed because it never leaves 6th gear.

Here I thought I was rolling dice running 40's on fully built rubi axles lol.

Ton's of charts out there that will show you exactly what your RPM. Wow you were even over 1700 RPM with the 42's and those gears. Was it in 5th gear all the time?

touche - I should have just used Andee's spreadsheet. I had that one saved from my JK and wasn't paying attention good catch!

Damn you would have been even lower on 8th then what was highway gear with 42s and those gears running in? I don't even know what gear that would cruise in on the highway.

Updated chart.

I would be in 5-6 gear and it drove fine for the time being until I got axles and gears. I didn’t want to put money into this 35 when I planned on throwing it out anyways. With the 2.0 it still would smoke regeared JKs so I was happy and I would get like 13 mpg at 65-70 after going above 80 it drops to like 9 but that’s just a given with the circumstances

5.38s in a trussed 44 I’ll be fine with since it’s an on road strict jeep. End plan is 60 front and 12 bolt rear and 14” coilovers. That’s about 6 months to a year out.

why the 12 bolt? ring gear isn't much bigger than the M220 I think.

Everything in red tells you everything about the op’s driving style. Ever if it was a fully trussed 44 with 5.38’s this would have still happened. As the ring gear is extremely smaller in thickness. Let’s leave it at op learned a lesson and the dealer will
Not be replacing this under warranty as the driving style to mods where the exact cause of the ring failure
