I'm on 4 1/2 months waiting for my Willys build. While waiting, I've read so many complaints about the hinge corrosion that I am already worried about my Jeep that isn't here yet!
How is it they aren't correcting the issue, and we still line up to buy these things? I almost feel like a sucker waiting for the most expensive car I've ever bought to need paint work yet, here I sit, so excited to get this thing. I guess that's what happens when you have a corner on the market?

Dude, chill. The majority of rigs don't get that corrosion. People don't hop on forums and proclaim how great their vehicle is. They get on to bitch about an issue or post a fix. Do a search for "no corrosion hinges" and see what you get.

....also, I just tore my perfect good hinges off the doors and had them LineX'd because regardless of corrosion, they will be chipped up pieces of shit by next year from wheeling and my wheel offset. Even the stock Willy's and Rubicon chip their own hinges.

You are seeing a skewed sample. But just for the record my 2021 Willys still has no corrosion. In fact, the only problem I have had in the first 10K miles is a defective battery, which was replaced at no charge. Heh. No charge.

I can see both sides of the argument. My driver's side has the issue, but my passenger's side does not.

Our 2019 is perfect in that regard, maybe if I lived in the rust belt I'd be more concerned though. I would be concerned w/ your sun visor falling from the roof though, ask me how I know

Here's the long and short of it ...
This will never be fixed at the factory level.
Not all Jeeps will have the issue.
Not all Jeeps will have the issue within the 5 year corrosion warranty.
Not all Jeep owners get the issue fixed.
Simple economics ... It is far cheaper to fix the problem at the dealer level than it is to fix it at the factory level.

My ‘20 Sahara has corrosion on both front corners of my hood and on 2 hinges thG
at I have seen so far. Hinge corrosion is very minor at this point.

My sun visor is also broken.
with that said, setting at 100 miles shy of 60k and lovin’ every minute of it!!!!

I have owned numerous vehicles, and NOTHING is close to the Jeep experience in my opinion.

4.5 months is a long time to wait and obsess. My dads JT has only been a 2 month wait and he got the delivery date today. Ordered 5/28 will be getting it 7/22. He’s managed to fit in so much worrying I can’t imagine even longer.
