I put a set of the American Iron Offroad ball joint deletes on my wife's JLUR before we went to Moab last year. They were a little tight at first but loosened up and we haven't had any issues. No noises or any slop after 35k miles.

Well, I’ve had the MC Baller Joints here for a couple of months waiting to go on. I’ve not done ball joints in a long time, much less a Jeep and we’re busy as hell and I don’t trust hardly anyone to touch my vehicles anymore if I can avoid it. I went by reputation and the fact they are rebuildable. Didn’t even know you could do that without removing the knuckle. Bonus!

I plan to do a video of the install but I’m not sure I can improve on Metalcloak’s install video other than relaying anything I come across as a long time DIY’er.

Anyone got more details on setting the preload?

I DID!
(without telling the wife!)
Good choice, on both fronts!

I'm pretty sure I picked the perfect time to order mine, as we took a short trip this weekend and I started hearing an occasional pop/clunk from something up front. Pretty sure it was a ball joint but I'll have to do a little more checking to be sure. Just over 24k on mine with about 11k of those on 35s, but that's been 100% on road use so far.

So, my 2021 JLUR Diesel has 17,000 miles on it running 35s, I'm planning on replacing the ball joints BEFORE it's a problem, sooo...
Metal Cloak Baller Joints, OR Dynatrac HD ProSteer ??
($$ is not an issue)
Get the Metalcloak ones. I have had two dyntracs fail and terrible CS with Dynatrac. CS at Metalcloak is hard to beat.

Mine was doing the clicking noise for apparently over 6 months ( according to the wife), I could never hear it, but had the adult kid along a month ago and they said "Dad, don't you hear that" so I got out and had someone turn sharp while driving and NOW I can hear it, tightened the lower balls one notch on the castle nut and it went away! (for now)

That's a good point and idea, I remember we had to have my wife's 2021 tightened up as it would pop whenever you were backing up and turning the wheel. I may give that a try as I'm probably a couple of weeks away at least from my Dynatrac install since I'm still waiting for my other Reid knuckle and still need to decide on the steering system and get it ordered...
