I have a 2021 JLUR ess that I only drive once a week. I’m going to put a battery tender on it but unsure what Amp size to go with. 1.25…3…4….
thanks in advance

i found a post from Rhinebeck01 recommending a 1.25 amp charger so that’s what I’ll go with.

Current thought by me is to go with a 10 amp. Consider a 10 amp Noco.

Why 10amp? I thought higher amp was hard on the batteries. Just trying to learn. Are you talking about this one For $116?

I started off with a 1.25, then went to a 5 amp and after 4 years settled in with a 10 amp Noco. A 10 amp is all I will use on either the Aux or Main.

The 10 amp Noco is aok to use with with both the Main and the smaller Aux.

I as well as many other's found the smaller amp tender/maintainers do not do deal with the Main battery as well as the higher amp tender/maintainers.

You are better off just going with a 10 amp charger maintainer.

Here is the Noco 10 many have gone with...

I use the exact same one on both my BMW X5M as well as my Jeep Wrangler. This is an awesome charger that will provide 10AMP's when needed and then will go into Maintenance mode once charged.

Been using it for years now without any issues...

Any interest in a cascadia solar panel? Connects to the battery and acts as a permanent battery tender

Note, there are battery chargers, usually 10 Amps + and Battery Tenders, 3 Amp or less. The Tenders are for charge maintenance, long term. Days or weeks. Solar versions as well.
