With your new front axle do both balljoints push in from the bottom as well, or is it an opposing or kingpin setup?

He’s been up on jack stands for a while, he’s liable to snap……?
Sorry to hear! Wish Moto_21 was closer to help him out on the wild projects.

All that happens over here is the usual bolt ons for the local jeep club wrench weekends.

This weekend it's some steering stuff, 2 sets of diff covers, and a sun-rider top. All very exciting projects!!

I ran the American iron offroad ball joint deletes on our jlur. I took them off after about 3 months. It really firmed up the steering, and felt great on, and off road. There was just one big problem. The deletes are a heim joint which if you ever heard an ultra 4's suspension move then you'll know what the issue is. They started squealing really, really, really loudly. I could hear the Jeep turn onto our street which is a football field away from our house. The owner is really easy to deal with, and refunded me the money, but beware they are loud. Not a problem for a trail rig, but unbearable on a daily driver. At least to my ears.

I am trying to parse what different companies are telling me. I am told that ball joint deletes will handle worse on road by companies making ball joint replacements kits.

The ball joint delete people tell me they will actually handle better. Their reasoning is that a solid axle vehicle does not need an omnidirectional ball joint. I agree with their logic.

What do you guys think of the rational? Any of you switch and to deletes other than American Iron, and if so, what was your experience?

I'm not an expert on these, but I've always been concerned about loading a bearing in a direction that they probably weren't intended.

FWIW: Metalcloak's kit only has balls in the lower joints.
