Thought he was saying replacing tie rod/drag link would require an alignment, unless I misread
You are correct... i was referring to the tie rod/drag link.

The drag link/tie rod are stock and appeared to have no issues.
It’s a very high percentage that it’s the ball joints.. but if it’s not, you’re not doing it for nothing, if not now, sometime in the near future, the ball joints will be an issue…..imo, you should replace the steering linkages as well, but I understand a budget, just make sure it’s your endgame sooner than later to avoid issues on the highway….just my $.0✌

Can be more than that too. Just got done doing ball joints (Dynatracs) and tie rod (Steer Smarts) in a buddy's JK and still DW persists. Trackbar is next.

Of course, DW has many faces…. But I’m just recommending based on OPs intel….. why didn’t you start with the track bar ? That is the culprit most of the time….

Because he knew he had ball joint play. And his tie rod was U shaped from rock hits.

Sounds like a makeover was definitely in order, lol…
I have a spreadsheet built for him lol, there's a long overdue freshening in the works. This was one of his lower ball joints. Both were this bad.

The kit is less than 1K old per his post and includes new front and rear adjustable track bars, .

Odds are high for stock steering or ball joints to be the issue. Just a mater of finding the play.

I guess my backword often screwed up thinking was that sense everything seem to check out OK to replace the ball joints first because I will have to do it at some point anyway. If that takes care of the death wobble, that’s great and I can replace the other steering linkage as funds become available. Of course it could be the steering linkage and not the ball joints. Either way they’ll all have to be replaced sometime. It seems like it’s sort of a crapshoot as to what order to do them in when you don’t have the $$$ to do it all at once.
Thanks for everyone’s advice. I guess I’m lucky that it’s not a dd.
