ALSO just realized and remembered that in FL the license plates are reflective…I am sure it is that way for most states now.

I hope guys/gals here that are novices in regard to vehicle wiring, do read through this whole thread and then come up with a lets call it well thought out way to do their b/u light install..

Again, read the whole thread and then ask questions and have at it..

When doing a simple wiring install, the best bet is to do your business elsewhere rather then invading/compromising/bastardizing the power distribution center (PDC) . It is best to steer clear of the PDC...

Again.....In general it is best to steer clear of the PDC. Best best for many reasons..

Ask me if you need a reason why not to try and take it out!! ??‍♂??‍♂?

(Although I still tapped my ignition lead there, and will make my own fuse tap for the reverse wiring. Did the same on my 2012 JK with no issues for 11 years!)

THIS is not “bastardizing” my PDC:

And I have had ZERO issues with doing it this way!!!

I took my time and was as gentle with everything around. I also changed out my Fuse Bar at that same time since I was not sure if I fried the fuse when I was installing my new Aux & Main battery.

Not having the location in the bumper and desiring simplicity I went this route. T-connect in harness.

Wonderful idea and very clean! I’m looking at the 6” light bar and thinking if only one would provide enough lighting to back up. I’m actually thinking about mounting one in the center of bumper, that skinny area right above the tow hitch. Do you think the wire is long enough? Sounds like I’ll just need to connect to one of the taillights.

So I made own reverse light fuse tap for Fuse 111. Call it what you want, but its snug and secure and works perfectly. Sorry, I ended up shrink wrapping the final product and it was perfect. Even labeled my fuse box so the techs at dealer know what those wires are for. ??‍♂

If the amp draw is low, i.e. 1-2 amp or less, 3-4 feet of 2 wire would get you to a tail light to splice in. Don't want to overwork the transmission B/U relay. Otherwise relay and separate circuit would be better. These are "brighter" than stock but only draw 0.36A each.

Thanks for the insights!

So I've read the entire thread pretty much. It seems as though the best thing to do is tap into trailer tow wiring? Where are these wires located in the two photos below? Or does the harness run through the interior where its better to tap into?

https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/s2-sport-black-flush-mount-led-auxiliary-light-pod-reverse-kit/

That is the kit I bought. The harness has a red and black wire and also a switch.

I'm just trying to figure out which cable to tap into and where it is located. E
