Sell cover…………..?
Is it ever advisable to grind down a diff cover to clear components? I just swapped Clayton track bar for Steer Smarts and now my Yukon Diff cover hits. ??‍♂

I swear this Jeep is never ending.

@BDinTX to your original question have you tried playing w/ angles to clear the ARB cover? Mine hit at once point but in this current config it seems to work ok.

With the synergy clamp I don’t believe rotating would help since it’s basically a 1/2” collar and it’s contacting just below the horizontal center.

With the Clayton if I rolled it forwards about 15° there was a spot jest below the top plate that would give about 1/8” clearance. I kinda mangled that clamp getting it off though so don’t really want to put it back on.

I appreciate the suggestion though.

Just wanted to post my findings with Fox ATS SS and the Clayton SS relocation bracket. With stock tie rod and drag link, but RuffStuff super beefy diff cover (1/2" ring and 3/8" cap). You can see due to the Clayton bracket moves the SS to the driver side, at full lock of wheel to the driver side, the Fox clamp is really close to the diff cover, if someone on the driver side turns the wheel a bit more it'll make contact to the diff cover for sure. And at full lock to the passenger side, the shaft rod is also getting too close.

I think a few solutions:
1. A new SS track bar mounting bracket that moves the SS to the passenger side a bit. Metalcloak has one but it moves the SS further higher. I prefer the SS to be as level as possible.

2. Aftermarket tie rod that gives it more clearance between the diff cover. But may run into other fitment issues with Fox ATS.

3. Remove the Fox ATS and use a different SS with shorter shock body. Or even back to the factory location and no more SS relocation...
