It’s ok to make fun of me for using a torque wrench on a drain plug. I’m no mechanic and usually break things by torquing bolts too much. Anyone have the office spec?
I remember 20 lb-ft was mentioned in other threads in the past. I was actually looking into the drain plug yesterday. The one I have currently has no crush washer. There’s molded rubber (I think) at the base of flange. So not sure if torque really matters in this case.
So instead of trying to find out the torque spec, I applied yellow Teflon and hand tightened. It’s been fine after two oil changes.
