I finally decided to install an Antirock sway bar instead of fiddling around with quick disconnects. At the moment, I am still running the stock Sport suspension on my 2-door JL and am therefore quite conscious of weight, especially up front.

So...just curious if anyone can advise on the weight difference between the stock sway bar assembly and the full steel Antirock sway bar. I suspect the difference is negligible, but just wanted to be sure before I commit. Thanks in advance and happy Jeepin'!

AFAIK: The stock swaybars are all 21mm (0.826772") in the front. The Sport is solid, Rubicon is solid but likely a slightly higher rate (due to reduction in spring material at the smart bar dsiconnect), and I've read that the Mojave is 20% less stiff and lighter (meaning it's likely a hollow bar).

I can't comment on the exact weight of the Antirock, but their 7/8" (0.875") aluminum armed version is probably pretty close in weight to a Sport.

OK, thanks. Any idea what a stock sway bar weighs in comparison?

OK, that's sort of what I was thinking too. Seems like the difference must be between 5 and 10 lbs., which shouldn't be an issue with stock Sport springs.

What engine do you have? If it's not the diesel, 4xe, or the 392, and isn't a heavier build such as for overlanding, you should be fine with the .770" Antirock sway bars.

The .850" bars are designed with either a heavier engine or a 2.0/3.6 built for overlanding in mind.

RockJock also has their newer 1" bars specifically designed with a heavier engine and build in mind.

Thanks for the feedback. I just have the stock 3.6L with eTorque, but was just curious if the .770 was going to add significantly more weight to the front end. I suspect that's not the case, but I always have to take weight into account because I'm still running the original Sport suspension (for now).

As mentioned earlier in this thread, even if it's a bit heavier, you'd never notice it.
