Cultish? Most AMSOIL users I know follow vehicle and AMSOIL's recommendations. I have heard of AMSOIL users having engine failures under OEM warranty, but always the fault of the OEM parts and not AMSOIL.
Anyone who cares enough to research oil options isn’t going to abuse their engine by forgetting to change it.

I work for an oil company that supplies crude oil to all of these companies, so I honestly should be pedaling conventional oils and 3k mile oil changes lol, but I firmly support synthetics.
Me too! I like the time and money savings!

Exactly. That's why I change everything in my fleet once a year with AMSOIL. You can even set up reminders at amsoil.com?zo=1181889 if you are prone to forget changing it.
On vehicles where I don't use the OLM (my Subaru which requires a change every 3k) I use the B trip indicator. On that vehicle I actually use B for oil changes and A for tire rotations. I'm not a guys who uses the trip for actual trips or monitoring fuel monitoring.

Ford and Mobil 1 recommend 3,000 mile oil and filter changes on my motorhome. AMSOIL recommends 15,000 miles up to 1 year because of severe service. I was skeptical, so had used oil analysis performed at 15,000 miles. Came back that oil was good for continued use. Saves me lots of time and money! Good idea using the trip indicators.

You might also like to know that Royal Purple was sold to Calumet who is now looking to sell off Royal Purple and Bel-Ray.
So? Dupont is no longer in the paint business. Companies move and sell off part of their enterprises all the time. This is my last post in the great Amsoil BS threads. Fanboys are fanboys.

My Subaru requires a change every 3k. Not because its recommended by Subaru or mobil 1 (It doesn't even get mobil 1), but because after 3k miles it has burned enough oil that it needs changed. This is common with Subaru engines. They run forever, but they love to drink some oil. The one in question only has 77k miles on the clock lol.

Dupont was purchased by one if my companies largest competitors, Dow chemical. I worked for a while at the Hilton Davis chemical plant in Cincinnati (now Dyestar Hilton Davis), and they were Dupont at one time. While I was there we still made a lot of chemicals for paints.

You might find Amsoil’s take on oil consumption interesting. https://www.amsoil.com/newsstand/motor-oil/articles/what-causes-an-engine-to-burn-oil/?zo=1181889 . As a chemist for Shell Oil I used to reformulate paint for DuPont.

Yeah I knew what they are saying. However, this is an incredibly common occurrence in Subaru engines. I haven't looked far into it, but I would assume it is because a piston laying on its side would have a harder time draining oil vs a vertical piston. You have to remember how a boxer engine is designed.
