No proof was ever given that AMSOIL was in the engine. No proof that a claim was submitted with written denial. No used oil or parts analysis was provided. No proof that AMSOIL failed ever in nearly 50 years. I've personally sold over 50,000 AMSOIL oil changes without a single issue. I've...
Yeah, I'm a retired Shell Oil chemist and currently have my own business selling AMSOIL, Wix, Donaldson and Mann products to hundreds of businesses and customers. Chemistry, oil, filtration and maintenance interest me and this seems to be what most want to talk to me about.
Why not? AMSOIL has proven and warranted it for 50 years. Oh, yeah, Mobil 1 hasn't. I don't blame you. AMSOIL outperforms M1 right out of the bottle. You've seen the independent standard tests, haven't you? If not, I'll provide.
You might find Amsoil’s take on oil consumption interesting. https://www.amsoil.com/newsstand/motor-oil/articles/what-causes-an-engine-to-burn-oil/?zo=1181889 . As a chemist for Shell Oil I used to reformulate paint for DuPont.
Ford and Mobil 1 recommend 3,000 mile oil and filter changes on my motorhome. AMSOIL recommends 15,000 miles up to 1 year because of severe service. I was skeptical, so had used oil analysis performed at 15,000 miles. Came back that oil was good for continued use. Saves me lots of time and...
Exactly. That's why I change oil and filters in my fleet once a year with AMSOIL. You can even set up reminders at https://www.amsoil.com/why-my-garage?zo=1181889 if you are prone to forget changing it.
Good. I see no advantage over AMSOIL and BG costs more and typically have to take it to a shop for BG service. I enjoy doing my own service unless Jeep pays for it.
Cultish? Most AMSOIL users I know follow vehicle and AMSOIL's recommendations. I have heard of AMSOIL users having engine failures under OEM warranty, but always the fault of the OEM parts and not AMSOIL.
I'm a retired Shell Oil chemist and in retirement I sell AMSOIL, Wix, Donaldson and Mann products to thousands of customers. Probably sold over 50,000 oil changes without a single issue. I am not an AMSOIL employee. It is my own business.
Again, if you use AMSOIL, they fight it so you don't have to. AMSOIL will pay for repairs immediately with no hold up on repairs, and then fight the OEM for reimbursement to AMSOIL. No fuss, no muss for 50 years.
How does a Dealer know if you didn't change your oil frequent enough? They have to prove the oil failed which can only be done by analysis. And if they do prove it, then it is the oil company's responsibility if they warrant it. I can't speak for other oil companies, but it has never been a...
Exactly why you should use an oil company that will fight Chrysler in the courts, not you. Rarely needed though, as used oil and parts analysis often tell what caused the failure. Better oils might possibly affect the OLM. Lower heat, less friction, better flow and efficiency might affect the...
Wrong. And only the factory can deny warranty claims. Not the dealership. And they should do so in writing and be specific. You correctly noted that the oil change intervals are "recommended", not required. The condition of the oil is important, not the OCI.
The factory warranty only covers factory defects, not defective oil. The factory has to prove the oil was defective and not the part to deny warranty, even with extended oil change intervals. That is why I feel it is important to use oil that carries it's own parts and labor warranty should...
Mobil 1 Annual Protection oil advertises 20K miles (up to 1 year), IF your car is out of warranty, and IF your driving does not include off road, towing, short trips, etc. Then, in and out of warranty, they recommend following the OLM. AMSOIL has no such exclusions.
