According to AEV, if I want to check my beadlock ring bolts (and if they need tightening to 24 f/lbs), I need to air down the tire to 0.

Is that really the case? My tires have beenmounted for a while now, and I just want to do maintenance. Airing down to 0 lbs seems wrong.

I assume that you jack it up to do that, right?

I was just going to leave it sitting, and check the torque on each bolt.

I'd think that you'd have to pull the stem to get it that low. I'm also thinking that having your Jeep's weight on those crumpled sidewalls would be really rough on the tires.

Pulling the valve is what they recommend, and I imagine tires off. I just want to know if I can do my maintenance check/tightening while they are on the Jeep and full of air.

JK spec Borah on my JL with 38” Nitto Ridge Grapplers and AEV 2.5”.

Spare is currently off while I get my Teraflex mount and Rugged Ridge hinge, but sliding over the camera is tricky when I tried for looks.

Personally I think the poke is perfect, and no rubbing on the street lock to lock.

The reason for this is the force behind those bolts. If you've ever seen them come off the don't just loosen up and come off. They will fire like a missle. They're likely wanting you to go to zero so this isn't an issue.

I went with satin and I'm loving them. Just picked it up at AEV yesterday.

Are you running these Borahs without the protection ring?

He is. I asked him about that too. I'm very close to pulling the trigger on a set of satin ones with the onyx protection ring. I'm just absolutely torn as I do love the XR wheels too. BUT, to build a set of of XR wheels (in the gray) it's $3500 from Mopar. They have satin black ones for $1800 a set with a silver ring, but they are backordered until 10/15. Decisions, decisions...

I ordered the jk version from Northridge in stock. I think mine were around 2200 for all 5. Went with silver rings because rock rash.

I snagged mine in the summer of 2020. AEV was running a sale buy 4 get 1 free, and I got a set through Northridge for under $1800 to my door.

From what I understand a sale is something AEV never does.

My rings were Onyx on Onyx wheels. Rash got them right away, so I painted them. In hindsight I should have gotten raw metal.

I also got mine on sale that's with beadlock rings included. Love the onyx.

These are my three choices too. Leaning toward the original satin black Mopars but they've been out of stock everywhere. Where did you find the "backordered until 10/15" info? Wonder if these are ever going to be available again or if the gray XR wheels will be the only option now.

Benny over at allmoparparts.com said his system shows backordered until 10/15.
