Got my monthly report on the Jeep and discovered it needs service...

Jeep Wrangler JL Action Item... :-) Blind Spot

...or I just need to put the doors back on. :) But it did make me wonder how many people didn't put 2 and 2 together and actually took their doorless Jeep in to service the Blind Spot Monitoring System...

Funny. I noticed that about mine too. You’d think they could’ve programmed that into the mix when you pop the doors off.

The cynic in me sees it as a potential money-maker for the dealership.

"Good news, Mr. Smith! The Monitoring System was just reacting to your doors being removed so nothing needed there. However... we do recommend several (completely superfluous) maintenance procedures, and it just so happens this month we're running a special..." :)

Monthly report for the jeep? What's that?

They would probably charge you the labor for checking it out. It is your fault that the Blind Sport Monitoring isn't working. I have had my door off for weeks, and I don't have any warning on the Jeep APP...

Weird. I get the notice about Blind Spot not available on the dash sporadically when I start the Jeep and then the service message with each monthly report. It was the same for me last year. Once the doors go back on, everything clears up. 🤷‍♂️

I had a report of low tire pressure after a busy off-roading month in May, found that pretty amusing

They'd probably charge a $200 diagnostic fee.

Tbh, stuff like that with an obivous cuase, a good dealer eats the cost if its a new car and you play dumb. A good service writer would spot that out right away and go "well, its probably cause the doors are off but we'll scan it anyway" and check service history for any upsells. A really good writer, who isnt bogged down, will scan it right on the spot. But theyre far few between.

Glad I dont have any of that extra crap. All that stuff from a technician pov is a pita. I like my K.I.S.S sport :P
