40 is getting thick unless you run in high temperature area.
Also need to factor not much reported failure on the 2.0 Vs de 3.6. As I was teach in school if it work don't F around with it.
I know; that was my sarcasm on display.😁

Wished the 3.6 was a trouble free engine. When they work, they work pretty well. I was contemplating what I'll do if my second engine in my highly modified JL takes a dump. I suppose it depends on how bad I still want to wheel in the rocks. I could pay Motech to put a GM LT driveline in it, or just put another 3.6 in it. I'm getting more proficient at replacing 3.6 engines. They're relatively cheap. Hard to spend 6 times as much for a GM LT and end up with some unicorn.

Personally I would explore the 4bt or what ever is the updated version.
Think I need to get more space and find myself a project jeep instead lol

Steve, I wonder, do the 2.0T folks here go round and round about oil? Or just the 3.6 folks?😁
The 2.0T’s don’t eat their cams and rockers so there’s that.

The 2.0 is already running w30 so no point in revisiting this topic extensively
2.0 use same rocker design?

They are différents part number therefore I think it is safe to say they do not shares the same rocker
Yeah, the two engines came from different design organizations. Pentastar was Daimler-Chrysler and 2.0T was Fiat, is my understanding.

4bt is a marginal choice for a 60s bronco, very heavy. I can't see one working in a smaller light body. I mean you can make anything work...

For a while it was the diesel engine of choice to swap in anything as it is self contain. To my knowledge Cummins continue to have swaps friendly engine. When you do not want a other 3.6 or a GM i think Cummins is a valid choice.

The engine reaches the same operating temperature no matter where you are (save somewhere exceptionally cold like northern Canada), so I've never understood this line of thinking.
You are correct, they do mostly reach the same operating temp. The reason for the thinner oil is for the period between the start and reaching operating temp.
