I make my own start button bypass harness, basically it disables the start button until kill switch is flipped. No need to dig around fuel relays.

Thieves can program a new 'Key' and drive away!! Mine was stolen just before Xmas from a hotel, they didn't use a tow, video showed them pick the lock, get in then shortly after drive away.

Check out this video, go to the 6:50 mark to skip the chatter and watch how quickly the guy is in and programs the new 'Key'.

My point exactly. @Upnarms seems to think protecting the key (faraday cage / whatever) will hinder them, but they don't need that key at all.

I realize if a thief wants a vehicle bad enough, they're getting it and I realize the scenarios are endless.

This is my $99 plug & play, plan; I parked my jeep at let's say Walmart, I flip the kill switch on, lock it up, I'm walking away. I'm approached, the perp says give me your keys (hand on his gun) I give him my keys, he walks to the jeep, I walk away, and I've already called the law. The idiot (perp) can't start the Jeep. ?

Seriously though, the only person I would prevent from starting the wrangler with all these gadgets would be my wife. She would not be amused. If they want your Jeep they are going to get your Jeep.

I would think a battery disconnect with hood locks would be the most effective, but my wife isn’t going to put up with that nonsense either.

Generally, most anti-theft device threads turn into: if they want it, they're going to get it and it's not that I disagree with that, I've already stated it myself. I'm old and I'm not going to go to any drastic, uncomfortable, extremes to make driving more difficult, nevertheless there might be a few simple, inexpensive theft devices that could protect vehicles depending on the perp. Some people still use the club, I see them every now & then. Does a thief walk by that vehicle to the next one because of it? I don't know, maybe a lazy thief who forgot his cable saw would. The scenarios are endless.

Scammers/thieves continue to come up with new ways to steal, obtain people's identity, bank information & credit cards. I most certainly am not going to say "well, if they want it, they're going to get it" I look at it like this; They keep coming up with ways to steal, I keep coming up with ways to try and protect myself and let me assure you some of my methods have been effective.

Is a friendly conversation about sharing ideas and methods for anti-theft devices and/or solutions worth having? Well sure, to me it is. If it's not to others well, there are plenty of other threads to read.

Look, enough already. Just put a grumper on it, and as long as you steer clear of Miami, nobody will touch it.
