If there was ever a reason to buy a 392 this is the reason, crazy cat repellent

Damn, I flunked the vast majority of her critique. But, there are ways for “chest thumpers” to attract her type if so inclined.

My 392 is a couple months over 2 years old and it has 58,000 miles on it. I have loved every mile of it. I would definitely recommend it. I'm retired so those are all "play" miles and I smile every time I drive it. Is it the best commuter? no. Is it the fastest thing on four wheels? no. But will you smile and enjoy it every time you drive it? Yes!

I have read it is a great all around driver for trips long and short. But I wanted to aske if anyone that has one has experienced drawbacks, problems, other? I did a search on this but it was not conclusive, Thanks.
I daily mine, it has 22k on it now. Last year alone it did 834 miles offroad. I'd say 40-45% of that is blue trails, including 6 different BOH trails. Did Fern Ridge 3 times, did Barney Rubble twice, did Crawler Ridge 3 times, did Crawl Daddy once.

Left my house at 4am and drove it 95 miles in a heavy snow storm through 10+ inches of fresh powder on unplowed PA interstate and secondary roads, at speeds averaging 60-65 mph, just to drive all day in 12 inches of fresh powder at Rausch Creek Offroad park. While I was there, I had the opportunity to drive it on the offroad course which Rausch created years ago for a Ford Raptor racing series. Got to fly threw the woods as fast as I wanted, drifting every corner and hitting the ramps at freeway speeds.

Driven through mud, sand, and clay up to the axles, lost count of how many times I've forded up to 35 inches of water during water crossings.

It's still just as tight as the day I bough it. These are tough, well engineered vehicles imo.

Cons:
The LED headlights don't get hot enough to melt snow during a long drive in a snow storm.
The JL has the WORST backup lights of any vehicle I've ever owned, virtually useless imo.
I'm 6' 3", I wish the seat would go back at least another inch. But if it did, I'd probably smack the back of my head on the rollbar.
I wish the pedals were moveable, so I could move them forward a few inches.
The transmission tunnel is wide, and it offsets the gas pedal to the left. On days when I spend 12+ hours driving I begin noticing discomfort in my right ankle and heel.
Windshield spends more time cracked than in does without.

Oh, and by the way since you asked and can't do a Google search yourself, the Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer EV, and the RamTRX are all 4x4s which are faster than the 392. Buying a Jeep to race or call it fast is foolish - they're nice rigs, but they are way overpriced. But hey, you be you and enjoy 4th place and losing 30 to 40 grand after a year or two.
I wouldn't own a Rivian or EV Hummer for any price. I have more to do in life than wait for a battery to charge. I did own a Ram TRX for three years. It was fantastic truck, but I just never drove it that much. I drove my 392 instead because it was more fun to drive. In the 3 years I owned both a TRX and a 392 the 392 accumulated 4 times the miles on it. All the TRX did was come out of the garage once in a while for a very high-speed drive in the desert, then it was washed and put back in the garage. I never used it for a daily driver. After 3 years with only 6,000 miles on it I sold the TRX and kept the 392 and added a 2-door JLR. A 2-door JL is a far better daily driver than a TRX. If Jeep would put the 392 in a 2-door I wouldn't even own a 4-door.

I imagine that a 2 door 392 would feel a lot like a gasser leaving the line., lively to say the least.

This- my old PU hasn’t been driven in actually too long. I hate driving it for errands, it’s like docking the Queen Mary to park I would have considered a SC SB TRX before getting the 392, would have gotten a 2 dr 392 if available, maybe even a 2 dr 5.7 instead…. Maybe, sleepless nights would have resulted.

The city has a problem with ebikes using the EV chargers, I think it's more about them being fire hazards.

Ebikes are banned from all city buildings, and a lot of apartments and condos etc

I daily mine and love it. Only thing to note is gas. You literally will be going to the station every couple of days. I like to keep my tank full or close to it, and burn like 3 to 4 gallons a day. I do around 50 miles a day just to go work and back and maybe lunch. It’s my most favorite vehicle out of all of the performance vehicles I’ve ever owned. Compared to the Vette or the Super Duty, and besides the noise the 392 makes, it goes unnoticed and under the radar for most people which I love.

I do love the sleeper aspect of it. I thought I'd leave the exhaust valves open and forget it, but stealth is so nice to have at times.

Well yeah, make it a Demon. Having owned a Blown Chevy powered small light 63, more like a AA/A. Even with the HP NA Chevy it embarrassed many muscle cars. HP-Wt ,5.38’s, in short through the gears runs it was a ball. 😃🏁

Can I pick the track ? The 3A will beat your Hellcat if I pick the track, as it will my V8 Wrangler. Apples to Apples, I saw a comparison 392 / top AMG G Wagon / top X5M a couple years ago. Yep, they beat the 392 in a 1/4 mi, the boosted Beemer barely. Yep, the boosted G Wagon that costs about twice as much did better.
My choice came down to a Hellcat or a Diesel Wrangler, could afford one when the V8 rumors started. A premier off road vehicle that can break into a 12 sec 1/4 mi. … what’s not to like about a good jack of both trades ?
Dream on loser. No way a stock 392 beats my stock 800hp Hellcat on a race track. By the way, Raptors rip the 392s a new hole off-road as well. What kind of stupid are you? Oh, that's right. The kind of stupid that races a 392 Jeep and thinks its fast - right before it's transfer case blows up. LMAO - With the NEW Willys 392 for 70 grand you're losing your behind on your old, slow 392. Now go watch all your YT videos showing the 392s getting smoked. I'll own my Willys extreme recon for 10 years and still won't lose half the money you will in just two years.

You're missing the point completely. I wouldn't own them either. Regardless, people that have blown their money on a 392 and try to tell everyone how fast it is are idiots. They are trying to justify spending waaay too much money - especially when the newer Willys 392 is $15,000 - $30,000 less than the previous versions. A 392 may be fast for a Jeep, but that isn't really something to be proud of. A Jeep is a brick no matter if it has a 2.0 or a 392.

Pay attention, different tool for different job. I didn’t say a race track. I said I pick the track. My CJ3A could easily beat your Hellcat, or damn near any Jeep if I pick. I have 2 Oak trees 60” apart, it’ll be a short race, my 63 was ~ an inch too wide to fit. Don’t like that, That little Jeep fit places I wouldn’t think about taking the JLU. Your hellcat would go nowhere off road, a giant 4 dr TRX or fat ass Braptor damn sure wouldn’t fit where I wouldn’t take the JLU.
• 2023 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Redeye — 1/4 mi. 11.8 seconds
• 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack 1/4 mi. 12.5 seconds
* Old 2019 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 1/4 mi. 11.7 Seconds
What does the - .7 or +.1 seconds cost ? And ~ a whole second faster than my old slow 5000+ lb. off road focused brick. I’m impressed !

0-60 HC 3.5 sec - SP 3.8 sec -

BTW - we were talking fun DD, not racing Jeeps, that said, the mud races are fun.

Assuming you have driven jeeps before so you know how they ride on the street. I love my jeep but would not want it as a daily driver
I don't know, man. The steering and suspension of my 2026 Rubicon X is in a completely different planed than any prior Wrangler I had owned (including my 2021 Rubicon). So much so, that I did not want to mess it up, and just threw in 2" AEV spacers (which simply replace the factory isolators with taller ones), and even avoided installing an aftermarket tierod (which I always do). I'm going to carry the the OEM from my 2021 as a spare when I hit the trails. Just don't want to mess up how well it drives.
