Does anyone know why FCA has "banned" the e-torque from the 2.0T on the Sports and Rubicon, but not in the Sahara models?

The 2.0 already has an air/oil separator, and does a pretty good job too.

Funny how this thread is STILL going, talk about beating a dead horse.
I'll say this again, it seems like the only people bitter about the 2.0 are the 3.6 owners.

2.0T owners are about to get a break because the DIESEL and PHEV plug-in are about to become available. The diesel and PHEV plug-in will replace the 2.0T as the whipping boy….until a full electric one arrives. Oh…wait! I forgot there is also the 3.6 with eTorque. Or the 2020 Rubicon 2.0T not having the eTorque. But wait! There plot thickens…there is going to be a "top of the line" RECON Edition based off the Rubicon which will have the 2.0T and a revival of the eTorque! So many choices to love and hate. lol!

FCA just reintroduced the 2.0T with eTorque in the latest "top of the line" Rubicon model called the RECON.

They lowered the price of the 2.0L so perhaps it was cost savings to allow that as the e-torque parts can't be cheap - particularly the battery setup.

Actually I was making fun of people who make fun of owners of 2.0T and any other engine choice that is not their chosen one.

Really, can you drain it easily like a aftermarket CC? My wife's turbo malibu has one too but you have to remove the intake intermediate pipe to drain it. Kind of a pain in the butt.

You can’t drain anything because it’s a PCV system and oil is caught and either recirculated back into the crankcase or oil pan or burned off into the intake manifold.

Obviously having a working oil catch can is great, but I have been following their development for 2.0 closely and many are reporting bone-dry cans or dealing with fault codes at higher altitudes. I would say it’s not worth the hassles right now until we have more info and testing.

Yeah i know how a PCV system works. I have a CC on 2 of my cars. The way i read it it sounded like you were saying there was a built in CC.

We havent even got into the amount of fuel pressure u need to run on a DI engine yet which can be problematic in and of itself...
