I know that manufacturers get their advertised dyno data using high test and turbo motors detune to lower power when using regular.

Is there actually a fuel sensor on the 2.0 (or 3.6)? I assumed it was just a knock sensor.

If it is just a knock sensor and the 2.0 doesn't ping with 87, performance should be the same.

No, I don't know of an octane sensor. I do know that flex fuel vehicles have an ethanol sensor though.

Correct, it’s a knock sensor like every other engine. So it’ll just pull timing to avoid pre-ignition as needed.
